Adaptive cruise not working

I just got my m, so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong...but I cannot get the adaptive cruise to work. Nomatter how close I am to the car in front of me, I never get a car icon. All I see is the scanning symbol as in pic below. Anyone else have this problem? I can't get locked on to a car.

That worked! I just washed it last weekend, so I was surprised it wasn't clean enough. It took some windex to clean it, and it works great. Thanks!
