I got in an accident yesterday and broke my headlight. There is also some damage to my bumper. How much do you think it would cost to replace these two/ if the damage isn't too bad, do you think the body shop would be able to salvage the bumper? I guess it's kind of hard without pictures.
 
The plastic portion of the bumper, (bumper cover) assuming that's all that you need to replace, is $322 from infiniti parts USA and the headlight is a little under $900. I'm not sure about the headlight, but you can easily install the bumper cover by yourself with a 10mm wrench.

EDIT: You'll also need a standard and phillips head screwdriver for the bumper cover.

The guy said I would need a new radiator support as well. The total was 3500, which seems pretty steep. The company is the same one my dad has had do his cars for 20+ years though, so he does really great work. The parts were the most expensive part of the equation, so I'm going to try to find some parts for cheaper than what they've talked about charging. Does anyone know where I can get a list of OEM part numbers? The guy only works with OEM parts.

as a bodyshop owner the best advice I'd give you is to get your own headlight & let the guy in the shop do & get everything else for you. you don't want to use a used bumper because getting a good used bumper with no marks in the lower textured part is near impossible, & if you get everything online yourself to save a few bucks then your just cutting into the profit that the shop needs to do there job, in the end you may think your saving a little $$$ but in the shops eyes your vehicle & your job will not get the same respect it deserves because you are being very cheap about it.

it's different if you can do the whole job yourself, then by all means get everything for as cheap as you can, but if the shop is going to be doing the whole job then just save the big bucks on the headlight & let the shop do there thing for everything else... bringing your own radiator support & bumper is probably not the best idea, kinda like bringing your own chop meat & cheese to a resturaunt & asking them to make you a cheeseburger :tongue:
