About to buy '07 FX35 RWD...mistake in Boston?

Hello All,
I'm just about to sign on the dotted line for a '07 FX35 RWD. Very low mileage and great price. Test drove it the other day and was very, very impressed

My question is this... The salesman told me it's a RWD model, but that the drivetrain automatically distributes the appropriate load to the front wheels when the situation calls for it. He didn't point out that there are two models, RWD and AWD. After looking around a bit on this site and online at specs, it seems he's full of it. I'm in Boston, and we get buried in snow every year without a doubt. Am I making a mistake with this RWD, or is the RWD FX as intelligent as he claims on the '07 model?

Thanks very much.

It sounds like he is describing the Infiniti AWD system. It is rear wheel drive but will put power to the front wheels when required.
I would check further to see if in fact it is the AWD model.

You'll be happier with AWD especially in New England where the weather is always unpredictable. PM me your price range, options you want, color/mileage and such and I'll see what I can find in the area.

make sure to check if your buying an awd or rwd bc if you buy the rwd in boston you might regret it during a big snow storm. Maybe talk to the manger before signing the dotted line.

Thanks everyone. Yeah Squishy it's Herb Chambers....I bought a new '02 i35 from them. I hope he was describing the AWD model...if not definitely getting my deposit back.

Make sure you speak to someone else there if you think your being sold a RWD instead of AWD.

Yeah bro,
That's a pretty good dealership, they should sales-people who are on the ball. I'd ask a service guy, they'd know that ride if they did the certification inspection.

Good luck!!

I have a rwd. But we get an average of 5hrs and 16 min of snowfall here so it suits me. Back in 06 we had an unusual snowstorm and the fx just sat in the driveway. Pointless to get stuck on every hill. Just like any other rwd vehicle.

Get AWD. I traded in my m35 sport for a m35x after one winter in PA. Doesn't matter if your tires are made of glue. AWD > RWD

Yea for sure find out what you are getting. There is an awd light on the dash when you turn it on. So if nothing else you should be able to tell from that.

Sent from my DROIDX

Turned out to be AWD after all. Taking delivery on Monday, can't wait! Thanks everyone for the input.
Good for you, like I said earlier by their description it sounded like AWD. Glad you checked it out.
Enjoy :top:
