Don’t get me started on XM! Horrible Customer Service! My FX was a CPO with only 4K on it. I was to get 3 months of XM service. At check out/closing the sales guy asked if I wanted the 3 month of XM, I replied with a firm yes! Either I did not read the fine print or I was getting the royal shaft of what I actually got! What I got was the Basic “Select” service and that’s it. Nothing else…period!! When the FX was in the dealers hands it had the Radio, Traffic and the Weather working perfect! Everything worked great when I cruised off the lot that morning, then at about 8:30 PM that evening the XM shut down requesting activation. I called the dealer and was informed that I would receive an email from XM with instructions on how to activate the radio. If not to call them back in the morning. Sure enough the email came from XM the next morning. So I did exactly what the email said to do. What I got was the exact opposite! I was told the vehicle did not have a XM radio and that somehow I may have been confused on the options. I hung up and called back, this time getting a totally different scenario. I was signed up and given my account user and password info. Of course they tried to sell me the internet radio, which I turned down and I said I’ll just take the 3 months and work my way through the end of the promotion. The radio sprang to life. So I thought! Later that day we decided to take the FX for a ride and try out all the features. Guess what the Traffic and Weather were not working and required a subscription as well. I called XM back and was told that my radio did not support those features. I snapped back with “it worked until 8:30 the other evening then stopped”. Impossible the CSR said. Your radio does not support those features. Another phone call the next day to figure out the problem. Now I’m told in order the get those I’d have to pay for them. OK, sign me up then! Nope I had to wait until the 3 months of free programing was finished, but again I was being sold a full year but that would only kick in after the 3 months was finished. I requested to speak with a person with more brain cells. That failed as well! Seems the 3 months locks you into the Select service and nothing else can be had until that expires. I then decided to take my issue to FaceBook and make it public. I got a phone call within a few hours from the chief of listener care asking me to take my grip off of FaceBook. Not happening unless I get the radio working I said. Click the phone goes dead! The next day I get another phone call from the VP of listener care willing to find the problem. Again I’m told I have to work my way through the 3 month then I can have what I want. Not happening I told the guy. On day 29 I’m calling to terminate the service and listen to free FM radio. This time I decide to post the call ticket notes on Facebook. I’m getting all kinds of hits now! It’s going viral! The next day I get a call again but I miss the call and it goes into my voice mail. I listen to the message it’s listener care again and they have resolved the problem so says the voice mail. I’m also given the direct line to the Grand Poba of listener care. I hauled out to the FX at lunch time. It’s dead air! I’ve been had! I get on my cell phone and call the number back, a live person answers the phone. It’s not an auto attendant maze. I’ve in fact reached the Grand Poba of listener care. I explain who I am and why I’m calling. It’s a great greeting! I start off with telling him I have dead air and what’s being done to take care of it. Within seconds the radio springs to life again and this time I have the works! Radio, traffic and weather are all working! So I just have to ask the question….Why did I have to go to such great length to get this to happen. His reply… Have I taken care of your concerns today Mr. *******? Yes, you have, the phone goes dead! I don’t get it! Perhaps I’m not supposed to! I never had an issue with my Ram 3500 or Honda Pilot, why the Infiniti? If anyone has a better approach I’m listening and why!
