A Sirius question here guys

Okay so my 3 month preview expired and I bought a promotion package that has all the channels for $36 that lasts 6 months. Little did I know, with that, I don't get XM traffic or weather!

One thing I found out is that even the navigation is tied to this system, so I HAVE to buy XM traffic to even use the navigation system :banghead:

So I call them up and they say that I cant just add them to my promotion package, I have to get a whole different package that costs $90 for 6 months, a 250% difference just for some data, what a joke.

My question is, how much do you guys pay for the whole sha-bang? Traffic, weather, all that jazz.

Thanks!

Here is what I pay:

$9.95/month for the mostly music package

$2.99/month for XM Navi Traffic

I have the mostly music package on there because the only channels I really listen to and love are Area 52 and BPM 51. Don't need all those other crap channels. I'll occasionally listen to 90's on 9 though but not really. EDM all day :smile (2):

XM Navi Traffic is also important to me cause I commute to school and need to check if the traffic is f***ed on my way to school. If it is the navigation gives me another route.

fireonic you should download Digitally Imported Radio onto your phone and stream it to your car. It has about 30 different dedicated techno stations with very high quality music which I can jam to all day.

I told Aaron to use spotify, but he doesn't listen ;) Spotify has a Radio feature and I get more bpm variety that way.

superwario- I don't pay XM anything and use my navi all the time no problem.

Yeah, I have a 2011 FX with no NavTraffic and the system works just fine.

I pay $42.68 per quarter for all music, nav weather and nav traffic. It is my understanding that you can't get the nav items without the music. Stupid IMHO!! But whatever. I think my price is still too expensive. I thought about the lifetime package but even that does not include the nav items and the weather and traffic is what I really prefer.

Between the music box, the CD slot, the ipod, streaming Pandora....there are so many music sources in this thing why do you even need XM radio channels?

On a side note, does anyone know why when I log in and then reply I spend 5 minutes typing a bunch of crap and then go to post it and it kicks me out and doesn't post my post???? Annoying as HELL!!! Another reason I mainly just read stuff on here and not post anything....I get tired of typing everything twice. Am I logging in incorrectly or something?? It says I am logged in! Sorry for the rant ;)

They still offer a lifetime subscription? How much was it for music?

Don’t get me started on XM! Horrible Customer Service! My FX was a CPO with only 4K on it. I was to get 3 months of XM service. At check out/closing the sales guy asked if I wanted the 3 month of XM, I replied with a firm yes! Either I did not read the fine print or I was getting the royal shaft of what I actually got! What I got was the Basic “Select” service and that’s it. Nothing else…period!! When the FX was in the dealers hands it had the Radio, Traffic and the Weather working perfect! Everything worked great when I cruised off the lot that morning, then at about 8:30 PM that evening the XM shut down requesting activation. I called the dealer and was informed that I would receive an email from XM with instructions on how to activate the radio. If not to call them back in the morning. Sure enough the email came from XM the next morning. So I did exactly what the email said to do. What I got was the exact opposite! I was told the vehicle did not have a XM radio and that somehow I may have been confused on the options. I hung up and called back, this time getting a totally different scenario. I was signed up and given my account user and password info. Of course they tried to sell me the internet radio, which I turned down and I said I’ll just take the 3 months and work my way through the end of the promotion. The radio sprang to life. So I thought! Later that day we decided to take the FX for a ride and try out all the features. Guess what the Traffic and Weather were not working and required a subscription as well. I called XM back and was told that my radio did not support those features. I snapped back with “it worked until 8:30 the other evening then stopped”. Impossible the CSR said. Your radio does not support those features. Another phone call the next day to figure out the problem. Now I’m told in order the get those I’d have to pay for them. OK, sign me up then! Nope I had to wait until the 3 months of free programing was finished, but again I was being sold a full year but that would only kick in after the 3 months was finished. I requested to speak with a person with more brain cells. That failed as well! Seems the 3 months locks you into the Select service and nothing else can be had until that expires. I then decided to take my issue to FaceBook and make it public. I got a phone call within a few hours from the chief of listener care asking me to take my grip off of FaceBook. Not happening unless I get the radio working I said. Click the phone goes dead! The next day I get another phone call from the VP of listener care willing to find the problem. Again I’m told I have to work my way through the 3 month then I can have what I want. Not happening I told the guy. On day 29 I’m calling to terminate the service and listen to free FM radio. This time I decide to post the call ticket notes on Facebook. I’m getting all kinds of hits now! It’s going viral! The next day I get a call again but I miss the call and it goes into my voice mail. I listen to the message it’s listener care again and they have resolved the problem so says the voice mail. I’m also given the direct line to the Grand Poba of listener care. I hauled out to the FX at lunch time. It’s dead air! I’ve been had! I get on my cell phone and call the number back, a live person answers the phone. It’s not an auto attendant maze. I’ve in fact reached the Grand Poba of listener care. I explain who I am and why I’m calling. It’s a great greeting! I start off with telling him I have dead air and what’s being done to take care of it. Within seconds the radio springs to life again and this time I have the works! Radio, traffic and weather are all working! So I just have to ask the question….Why did I have to go to such great length to get this to happen. His reply… Have I taken care of your concerns today Mr. *******? Yes, you have, the phone goes dead! I don’t get it! Perhaps I’m not supposed to! I never had an issue with my Ram 3500 or Honda Pilot, why the Infiniti? If anyone has a better approach I’m listening and why!

XM does not offer lifetime anymore. When I called in to update my account a few weeks ago, I tried asking about it and its not offered anymore. I currently pay about average $15 a month, all inclusive.

I pay $120/year for music only , no traffic and my Nav works fine.

I don't know if I want to let the 3 free months expire or sign up under some deal of the century. For what I went through to get it operational the first time I see the same idiot service coming with another restart!

These people are complete idiots!

They sent me an offer already but it's at full price. No deal there! I keep getting offers for my truck that I got rid of several months ago. Even phone calls and emails. I've told them several times that I don't own it any more, yet the offers still come!

I've got the select service in my Honda w/traffic and have never had an issue with that. There could be a difference between the new and CPO. Yet my truck was used too and I never had an issue with that!

HOld out for a good deal. Tell them no dice unless you get a good promotional offer.

my friend just got a crazy deal cause they kept calling and emailing etc and didn't want him to stop payment, so he got 1 year on two cars for under $50 I think.....anyway, I hate companies that do this...comcast does this same exact thing. I currently have a > $300 service for $120/month last year it was $100 and 2 years ago it was $80. But this year the deal I negotiated (took 2 months to be off service) expires and have to go through the hassle again.

Just give us a good price and you don't have to spend a billion on paper and people calling. I don't get it. I guess there are just enough people that don't care and just pay.

This company is riddled with complaints! To numerious to write about! The fustration factor I went through to get my radio working was off planet earth. I had to go public with it before they took action and even then they were idiots. I think the biggest issues is the Listner Care is farmed out and they read from script and when the line blures they just start running in default mode which is just keep the customer going in circles.

Like I've said the only offer I have so far is at full price. Not happening at full price either. By I'm still getting offers for something I don't have! I must be missing something?

I'll hum to myself before I give these idiots any more of my money!

I kept playing "hard to get" with them during the free trial, the finally offered me $40/year for music no Nav, so I took it. Much better than the original $120++ they wanted.
