A click sound when i start the car in cold days

I have a 2009 fx35, at cold days when i start my car there is this loud click sound. I did a couple test and when i have the auto climate control on when the car starts from cold there is this click sound right after the needle illuminates then right before it goes to idle... i toke it to the dealers and they said it might have been the compressor that made that sound but i was just wondering if anyone else experience that ???
 
it's not a good idea to have your climate control on when you're starting the car, a little more work for the alternator.
i do think the click sound is coming from the compressor under normal operation.
a continuous clatter would mean a dead compressor.
