So I went to my local dealership to buy an engine oil filter (finally going to start changing my own oil on the FX) and while I was there, decided to get a quote for the 60K mile service. The dealership charges about $50 for an oil change using dino oil, so I was expecting the price to be pretty hefty. I'm at 53k on a 6.5 year old vehicle so I'm planning on doing this stuff pretty soon.
The service includes:
- replace engine oil and filter
- replace air filter
- replace brake fluid
- replace auto transmission fluid
- replace engine coolant
- replace transfer case oil
- replace differential oil
- replace wipers
- replace drive belts
- replace in-cabin microfilter
- rotate tires and check pressures
- inspect/test horn, lights, wipers
- perform 27 pt inspection (doesn't outline what the 27 points are)
- inspect fuel and vapor lines
- inspect brake pads and discs
- inspect exhaust system
- inspect suspension complete
- inspect steering gear
- clean sunroof drains
- adjust parking brake
All for $1,081.83. Ouch.
I'm thinking I'm going to do all this stuff myself. It will be the first time I've done most of on any car, other than engine oil/brake pads. I'm a little concerned about the belts, but everything else seems doable.
