5zigen Gravis

I got them mounted today. I think they look a lot better in person than in pix since I can't take pix like some of us on the forums. 295/45/20 Yoko Pradas fit nicely. The new tires appear to be quieter than the stock ones. They sort of look like TE37 from far away. I am quite happy with how it looks on my car

These wheels are tpms compatible. America's Tire Store was able to put my stock TPMS system on the rims without any problems.

The crappy thing about the wheels is that the center caps on the back wheels don't work because there is a big fat screw looking thing that's in the way. I think it looks better without the center caps.

so America Tire unmounted your stocks and removed the TPMS and mounted tires back on or did you have a spare set?
Maybe paint or something on the spline. Looks kinda rusty.
Otherwise pretty jealous over here.

PS your son is going to remember that when he gets old. One minute he was hugging the rim, the next its mounted to the FX!

Yah, I made them take off my stock TPMS, put my stock rims and tires together (balanced and everything else), and finally had them put the TPMS in my new rims.

Yes, that spline thing is ugly and it's in the way. I think the center caps looks cheesy as well. Best solution would be paint it I suppose. Another eye sore after I noticed was how exposed my brake calipers are. I think it needs to be painted or something

how much did they charge you?
good point about the brakes, if you replace your rotors (i heard slotted are better)make sure you get ones that are nickel coated so it won't rust on you and finish it off with some painted calipers. (hopefully not red:2smile:)

I have the 5Zigen gravis 1 mounted on my BS G35 sedan I've had mines for about a year now and they are still in great shape. There was fuss that the machined finish doesn't last long after purchased new but I've been lucky. I have a BS FX it never dawned on me to consider the Gravis for my FX though....

I wanted to stick to 20s and I didn't want to do that whole giant lip thing with 20s. I think deep dish 20s with fat tires make the wheels look small when mounted on the fx.

I get compliments from college kids every now and then. I think it turned out quite well.

I honestly think wheels with little to no lips are going to be a trend
I agree... just like chrome came in and hit hard, then chrome spinners...

Spinners went away just as fast as they came, chrome slowly faded and Jay-Z nailed the lid on the coffin with "No chrome on the wheels" in his Dirt Off Your Shoulder song.

Polished lips became huge because the general car trend started going from baller to sporty, and the DEEEEP dish rims were the poo. Now I think the dish style is slowly fading. Some die-hard fans will never part with it though :winky:
