I can indefinitely tell you that its not an urban myth, my FX had the headlight housing replaced by the dealership when I bought it due to someone who accidentally stuck in a D2R 55W bulb. the headlight was literally destroyed.
Either way ka0tyk this is not your thread, the OP asked about his headlights not his fog lights, and he asked about running 55W bulbs on his stock ballasts. Please stop posting non-sense about fog lights and confusing him. The last thing we need is someone to come back and say "I put 55W bulbs in my headlights cause IS told me it was cool" and melt the shit out of their headlights.
With my morimoto 6K 35W headlights and fog lights, it is like pure daylight in front of my car, nobody needs to be excessively blinding other people on the road. That is the exact reason that OEM's dont use 55W bulbs any longer.
Edit: Also ka0tyk you are not going to get very far with your confrontational attitude on this forum, I have only been here a short while but can attest to the fact that the members on here are extremely knowledgeable, some more so than your average infiniti tech.
Both Aaron and Andy are very well respected members, badmouthing either them or any one of the other members will be a losing battle.
