3M Carbon DI-NOC Film

I wrapped my console recently and I did use the 3M primer around all edges. The primer does helps. Heat from a hair dryer helps a lot with wrap on round edges/pieces.

I have a friend who bought a M5 today and he is thinking about doing this mask on it. It seems crazy to me to put a sticker on $100k car but people do it. Has anyone had personal experience on doing the exterior? I also live in AZ where it is HOT.

Lolol now everyones doing cf cup holders. I did mine on the door handles but took it off. Thought it looked kind of cheap in that area.

I like it in the handles. With the rest of the areas I did, it blends well IMO. It's subtle. I still want to do the ash tray itself, but I am afraid of damaging the chrome piece. Also, I want to be able to remove the film when I sell the vehicle, and if I do the tray, I will have to use the primer, which will make it permanent.

looks good guys. I am looking at some sort of film or something to look like oem dash. Mine is pretty scratched up and has a small dent in it that bugs me. Is there any sort of brushed alluminum like this? or even a oem dash kit at all?

The carbon looks good fellas, the 3M product is the best out there, we're going to do stripes on my mustang in it. We used flat black 3M wrap on my buddies Acura tl front grill and started wrapping valance trim and the roof of an Audi a4 s line. It's painstaking, but doable.

I just did my center console today also, took long and I want to redo it, but maybe in a few months. Stuff is really easy to flex and stretch when you heat it up.. I have more parts that still need to be done.

Hey,

Where did you purchase this carbon fiber and how much of it do you need? Thanks

I plan on doing most if not all of the brushed aluminum pieces. Looks like the same stuff (by 3M), it looks much better without a flash hitting it.

Late to the party, and I have a few things I would like to cover, but not sure what size sheet I need, can that 60 x48 cover the console, steering wheel, door handles(back & front), door handles(outside), and grill?

To do it right, you have to remove the steering wheel in order to take the control panel off.

Here is couple pics of my steering all apart for CF wrap.

Looks Awesome! I have black interior with the silver trim. I have messed around with this 3M CF stuff before and Have done a few things around the house and it's great stuff.

QUESTION THOUGH: about the steering wheel panels.

I took mine off one day to see what was involved to try to cover one in the CF film. When I took it off, I lost 1 small greet piece that controls the cruise toggle up and down. Basically this small green plug light plastic piece holds the toggle button taught. I only have one now and the toggle switch is floppy and doesn't work the cruise set. Is there a place I can order one of these or ask my dealer. LOL I showed one dealer what I was asking for and the one sales man was like you prob will have to buy a new steering wheel. I laughed in his face.

Please help... I miss my cruise control. Thanks.

Am I the only one using DarkSide?
