3M Carbon DI-NOC Film

I would cover the lettering for sure, I don't use them anyways. Still haven't attempted at forcing them off.

^ thanks, I am finding out some stores wont even ship the LA/Orange County (South Coast) because of air quality blah blah blah....

maybe I'll order from them , alternately I found a guy close buy that sells the stuff ( and he had the vinyl too dooh!)

I'm going to use this stuff to cover the wood grain on FX50. The interior on the 35 is much nicer with the piano black trim. Hate the wood trim.

Hey Alan They can do local pick up too ?

yes, but their website is a little messed up and didnt give me the will-call option. I called him and he was cool, but I had him ship it anyways.

on a side note. I received my order from CarbonFiberGear and it was packed real nice in a tube. But the brown is really brown. Im not sure if I like it (looks like milk chocolate lol) I emailed him to see if I can exchange for dark pewter.... we'll see.

UPDATE:

About a week since redoing the console with the primer 94 and it is slightly coming up again around the ashtray and cup holder. Not really noticeable, I just re-push it down again with my finger.

3M Di-Noc carbon fiber vinyl

So I just finished my first DIY mod on my new FX 35. I came across a new product by 3M--- 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber vinyl.

You can order it from a couple of places but I ordered mine from:
http://www.carbonfibergear.com/direct/3m-di-noc-carbon-fiber-vinyl
Fast shipping BTW.

It took about an hour and a half to complete, with a lot of patience and a second-hand helping with the heat gun. The material becomes very stretchy when heated so you have to be careful not to "distort" the carbon fiber pattern.

Next I'm going to try the steering wheel radio control plastic piece...if I can figure out how to get the dang things off????

Thats looks really good! I dont think you could do that on a 05' or older though because all of the labels are on the plastic piece itself, and not on the buttons like the 06 and newer.

There were a few places I had to cut out... just below the vents where it shows opened or closed and the two smaller outer knobs that have silver bezels around them were cut out.

But that was because there was a small depression/imprint where they were. If it was just printed on there it would be a guessing game of where to cut hahaha. Maybe get some clear material and making a template then pre-cutting the vinyl before applying? just a thought---a lot of work tho

i just did my center console those pieces on the steering wheel which are hard to come of cause u gotta take that whole part apart so i just did it by overlaying the cf vinyl on it and tracing it out and the door panel pieces and the infiniti logo on the steering wheel
