285 is better either 35 or 40. 305 is a lot on the front and you may run into clearance issues. Plus it will make the slow speed steering heavier.

thank you. im thinking about which tires i should buy before i purchase my wheels so i can just get the mounted and balanced right away. do you have any suggestions for 285/40?

You would probably be better at the 285/35r22 size, much more variety.

yea but i really want to run 40 because i wont be lowering and if I do it will only be springs. I want to fill up the wheel gap as much as possible while not offsetting the speedo. I would've run hankook ventus rh06 if they werent discontinued. can anyone give their input on their favorite tires?

Yoke Spec X or the Toyo ST2
At least in that size 0f 285/40

anyone running nitto nt420s? I really need a tire that will last me and serve me well in the corners. I do not mind road noise because my exhaust drones anyways lol

I have seen mixed reviews on the 420s. Search it on the forum here.

At 35 or 40, the speedo will be off a hair either way.

I had 305/35R22 mistakenly installed on my FX by Discount Tired couple years ago and I tell you it's hella meaty. I recognize something was off immediately. On my previous set, it was 22x10.5+25 and boy, did those tires rub and pop the plastic fender trim pieces off.
