2nd gen fx35 common problems

Just bought 2012 fx35 2 weeks ago. It is still under factory warranty for next few months. So before the warranty expires I want to check for any common issues related to this year and model.
  • Is there anything specific issues I have to look for in a 3 year old fx35 with 20k miles.
I have checked almost all aspects of interior and everything is functioning as it should as per to my knowledge.
I looked underneath car and there is no visible leak or anything.
Engine bay had some salt as the car is from Ny originally. I have cleaned the salt.
 
If you have those wood trim pieces on the doors, there is a common problem where they have a high pitch rattle while driving over rough roads.
Not really a problem when you have smooth city roads.
 
When I got my '12 LE last year with 14k miles, I had a few issues taken care of by the dealer before my warranty ran out. One issue was the drivers side seat track was worn. It would rock back and forth at times when braking....very annoying. They replaced entire seat track under warranty.
The other item was a P/S whine while making a low speed left turn (around 15-20 mph) I found a TSB that rectified it by installing an updated P/S reservoir....other than those items no real problems for me and I have 23k on it now.

Just HATE the 7 speed transmission and the jarring ride at times on these crappy NYC streets...21" wheels will do that to ya though....
 
I actually have that issue with my fx when I brake I feel it move. I told the dealer that and they basically said they did not find a anything wrong. Prob going to try a different dealer and see what they say.

I agree, Long Island/NYC traffic and this transmission don't mix well together lol

Never had any major issues just minor things that the dealer would easily fix and just kind of adapted to the 7 speed tranny

Only thing i get irritated at is once in awhile i will get that hard down shift jerk (maybe few times a month) or when i'm on a hill i feel like the tranny is so confused and has no idea what to do lol other than that the car still seems to amaze me still.

Not necessarily a Problem but, I recommend a strut tower brace, and I enjoy the improvements to the sounds that putting a custom Borla axle back exhaust/ muffler replacement makes.

My '13 sounded choked through factory muffler. "Tinny"
