2nd Gen FX ModZ (Photo-Chop'd)

Remember that there are no drops for this yet so it will NOT look like that. Plus is you get the FX50 with the adjustable suspension then I don't think you will be able to drop it at all.

Didnt even think of that one. what about the 35 sport?
what is wrong with those dummy's not to think of this one.

I don't mind the side vents especially since they are actually functional... they say the vents let out hot air from the engine bay thus cooling it by several degrees...

According to Infiniti, they are good for a 5-percent reduction in front lift.

the adjustable suspention will only be varying the valve dampening of the struts themselves so there should be no reason that lowering springs can't still be installed.

the new benz s class suspensions are cool, all electronic but airbags instead of springs.... I've seen one customers of mine dropped pretty hard & slammed with just reprogramming of the module... now that's a nice way to lower a vehicle:smile:

I would think that lowering an adjustable suspension type vehicle would do more harm then good as that would throw off the feedback the suspension would be receiving, no?

As for reprogramming the computer for the drop...I think that would be the idea way to do it for those vehicles equipped with bags.

all the electronic suspension is doing is taking the vdc a step further to also have control over the valve dampening of the shock absorbers... the computer is looking at conditions & making judgments as to weather the shock should be over or under dampened under the current conditions... I don't think it will be so much affected by overall height as it will be to relative height. worse case would be if the fx set a fault by not seeing correct ride height, then there will have to be accommodations made to recenter the height sensors IE: a 2" drop will need to relocate/extend/adjust the height sensor so much to have the computer see the new ride height as within specs...

in other words, if the height sensors use a reference voltage of 5v, it may expect to see a return voltage of say 2.5v at rest... if after drop the computer sees 1.9v & it sets a fault, the sensors will need to be altered to adjust this new ride height to a 2.5v reference at the new ride height... I wouldn't expect this to be an obstical...

Seems like the FX has gone high tech, . . . so the mods need to be too

Good points John. But with the high tech stuff going into these cars every year it is going to be harder to do any significant mods to them. At this point I would not be too eager to adjust the height and play with the adjustable suspension on the FX50.

like Dave said, as systems get more sophisticated, mods have to be more sophisticated too. this is already the case big time compared to years ago... but there will always be modifications necessary & always be ways of interfacing factory systems to do these modifications... the mods available now already are very sophisticated, some of these piggyback ecu's are really amazing in what they do & how they do it. the apparent lock down of the gtr is far from the norm & I'm sure even tactics like that will be circumvented once warranty compliance is thrown out the window

most cars are built to suit averages & common uses & to please the broadest range of potential customers in it's market, but there will always be those that are willing to trade off something to gain something else, to want to tweak & improve areas that are important to them. as long as the demand is there the solutions will be there too

GTR ecu has already been cracked =)

But yes there will always be modding but not as easy and perhaps cost effective as years past.

+1.

On my Audi S8 and A8L with adjustable height suspension I was never able to get them dropped like we do now with our FX's

This option sucks unless your willing to pay to get the whole suspension redone... UGhhg.

not worth it.

the FX looks good Dave.. You even cut the rear Antena.. Nice attention to detail.

I am not really feeling the side view of the doors. The FX looks like it had a tummy tuck... looks too skinny.

Minus Points on the Nismo Exhaust BTW....:wub:

Cleaning up the desktop, but before I stow this one away, just a few easy color changes

LOL, dave... you must REALLY hate the front/grill design of the 2nd gen FX, huh? I notice you only do these PS with back/side angles
