^^very very nice setup and nice choice of wheels. All you could use now is a drop on h&r's and blacked out lights and it'll look sick.

I'm gonna need to get a side shot of my car to see how the FX50 rims would look darkened like this.....

does anyone have the OEM 18's powder coated or did there wheels black. i wanted to see if it would look good, so i can do it.

i think if i jut powdr coated them it would look weird because the wheels are kinda small.

Thanks! I'll do a drop once there's a camber kit available...going to have a look around for someone to do the lights.

Few shots from last night...It was raining so the FX is a little dirty/wet, but I'm pretty happy with these

Looks great!! I see you have staggered setup, do you have an AWD FX?

A general question I have not just for you, but for anyone else on this forum as well, is there ANY ISSUE with running a staggered setup with an AWD FX35? This is a partially multi-pronged question:
1. Staggered Rims ONLY = 22x9 in front and 22x10.5 in rear, all 4 wheels running same size tires
2. Saggered Rims AND Tires = Setup just like FourXX_50's above with 22x9 front and 22x10.5 rear with front and rear tires being different sizes

If you have 22x9 in front, with 22x10.5 in back, then if you got the same size tires even though the rims are different widths the resulting package would be the same since the tires are the same size. Initially my understanding was with AWD you ideally want all 4 wheels AND tires to be the same to not cause issues with AWD. I understand that with different size tires this could cause a problem with AWD, however I'm not sure if having different width rims (even if you are running the same size tires on all 4 wheels) would be an issue or not?

I want to avoid any potential issues with the AWD on my ride, and would like to know what my options are when looking at rims/tires. If I'm locked into getting only a setup where all 4 rims AND tires have to be the same, then that limits my options. If however I can get different width rims (22x9 front, 22x10.5 rear) but have the same size tires on all 4 wheels, this really expands my options.

Thanks!!

I'm by no means an expert, but I would have to think that using the same size tire on all four corners would avoid any potential issues. However, I think having all four tires the same size would defeat the purpose of having a staggered set up. If you look around, you should be able to find tires that have the same (or very close) outside tire diameter, which I believe is the key factor in preventing any AWD issues.

I've had no issues with AWD thus far, and have about 2-3000km on the setup. I've since switched back to my 21s with Blizzaks, Winter is coming!

how much $$$ for the wheels and where you get them?

I paid $2000 for the wheels, directly from Giovanna.

Well the only reason I'd look at doing a staggered wheel only setup (all 4 tires same size) is because wide wheels like 10.5" show they won't fit up front. So to prevent any hassles with this, I could either go staggered (22x9 up front, 22x10.5 in rear, all 4 same tires) or just go 22x9 all the way around. With most wheels this doesn't matter, but if you want a concave wheel the wider the wheel the more concave effect you get.

Basically I want to buy from a place like Discount Tire that guarantees fittment, and if there is any issues they'll take care of it. This limits my options to either 22x9 all the way around, or staggered wheels only where I run all 4 tires the same size to mitigate any issues with AWD.

If you make the traction patch the same on the wheels then you'll be fine, much like I did when running the GTR whee;s.

Also, Fourxx_50, How much does each wheel weigh approx?

I was wondering where the 2nd Gen thread was located for sample wheel setups and happened to stumble upon this. We should revive this thread! I'll post my new pics here once I get my new shoes on. The place I ordered from forgot to send me the aftermarket lug nuts...so slight delay again.

And to the moderators, why wouldn't we have this under wheels & suspension? IMHO, it would seem more logical to have this thread located there for when folks are looking for wheel setup ideas/info. I for one did not think to look in 'Photos & Videos'.
