Im sure this has been gone over 100 times so i apologize in advance, but im close to closing the deal on some wheels. The wheels are 22x8.5, From what i've seen, im kinda picking up a 265/40/22 series tire is the best route to go. Any truth to this, any help would be appreciated. Oh yeah i plan to drop it on H&R Springs too.

That sidewall is going to be fairly tall. Personally if it were my choice the tallest I would go with would be 265/35, especially if I am dropping the car on top of it. I would go wider on the wheel as well that's just personal preference.

If your going H&R, 285/40/22 fits very well, lessens the wheel gap a tiny bit more. 285/35/22 is the other tire size to look at keeping the stock diameter.

265/40 is fine on an 8.5" wheel. 265/35 would work as well, just a little shorter and your speedo/odo will be slightly off. I wouldn't go 285 on a 8.5" wheel. It would bulge a lot and to me at least not look great. Right now I run 265/40 on a 9" wheel and it looks a tad too bulky for me (it would look better on a 9.5") and I used to run a 285 on a 10.5" wheel. FWIW, check the offset of the wheels. In a 22x8.5" size, it seems like those are going to be designed for a FWD car. That's a relatively narrow width in 22". A lot of FWD offsets are weak and you'll need decent sized spacers to look decent or even to clear the brakes. By the time you get 2 sets of spacers, your deal may not be so great.
