22x10 40mm

so i searched through at least 8 pages and couldnt find a simular set up....

i am looking at some Helo 851's 22x10 40mm offset with either 285-40-22 or 305-35-22 will i run in to any rubing issues?

i plan on doing H&R lowering springs too.

any help is greatly appricated
 
With a +40mm offset you won't have any issues, but your stance will look tucked in because your wheels/tires won't be as flush as possible to the fenders. But if you don't mind that than your all set.
 
but it's a 10" rim, not 8"... that should be a perfect fit. an extra inch inside & an extra inch outside compared to stock 20"wheel. equal offset to a stock 20" wheel with 25mm spacer.. perfect flush fit... even 305 all around would be ok but a bit wide for the fronts... 285's all around would be a bit more responsive in the steering end of it really...
 
Not really flush John as I have 10's with a +35 offset and even though I do rub with this offset its still not REALLY flush, lol :tongue:. But he should be fine with the +40 and 10's.:tup:
 
haha, so how much past rubbing would you want to go? :tongue: i dunno, guess to me once it's rubbing, it's about as flush as your gonna get... I think the +40's won't even rub... should be about perfect

lol, I'm just saying if you look closely you can still get like 5mm more in the front, lol. But yea I agree with that setup he won't have any rubbing issues.

How'd the wheels fit for you? I just bought the same set (10" 40 offset) and they wouldn't clear my OEM brakes... put a 5/16 spacer on, and it was still too close for comfort. Website claimed guaranteed fitment for the 8" width, same offset... and yet the 10" wheels don't fit?

What's the deal? Online fitment "guarantee" my ass...

Rear wheels were fine, just couldn't clear the fronts. Not like the OEM brakes are that big...
 
Any shots down the side of 22x10 or 20x10 +40 and +35?

It seems like 22x10 +40 would in fact be perfectly flush based on my experience with the stock 20x8 +40 with 20mm spacers...

Infinite.FX I have absolutely no idea how any 22x10's would ever have problems clearing the calipers...???

18" wheels fit fine, I just don't get how 2" of extra clearance would ever cause problems with the brakes...?
 
Sounds like the spokes were close to the calipers not the barrel.

Flush is viewed differently, and will change based on the tire bulge. a 22x10 with a 265 will not look as flush as a 22x10 with 305.

Oh yeah, it just seemed weird given he tried a spacer as well. The spokes must be convex as hell.

Flush is also dependent on camber, the more negative camber the less the top of the wheel will appear flush with the fender, but I doubt many people in an FX would run more than -1 degree :tonguey:

where are the pics?

I Havent pulled the trigger yet, something came up....will report when i do, prob next month

Some faces will come in real hard to do wider lips. Will has Axis Mods, 20x10 +40 and his front spokes were really close to the caliper.
