2018 Infiniti QX70 Redesign

10 years of the Audi Q7 as well. As long as Infiniti comes up with an fx that blows my head i dont mind waiting.

Having a longer time frame between model changes has some advantages though. Parts are cheaper/available and people don't feel the need to get the new one due to their current ride being the old design.

Even though I just picked up a 2015 QX70S, I will say this car is overdue for a refresh.
Sure the styling and tech inside/out is still nice. The powertrain is competent. But it's no longer at the front of the pack. 8-10 years for a generation is just too long.

I don't mind staying in my 2010 FX50S a few years more.

Every time I look at another car, I remind myself that the FX50S is paid off and I'm good for another 6 months lol.

I worked for a Porsche dealership...and I would get another FX in a heartbeat!
FX started this segment just look at the Macan...don't you find a resemblance with the EX35 lol
Macan is amazing!!! You have way more cabin room compared to an Audi Q5
Inside luxury and materials are insane but from a price point perspective it is another story. Opting for a couple of options and you double your initial price, so ideally you get a CPO after 3 or 4 years for 50% of its original price.
Finally Porsche are known to be built to be abused and extremely reliable until something needs servicing but regardless it is nothing like your typical Audi/Benz/BMW (ex Audi Fan boy here lol)

I honestly have no idea what infiniti has been doing the last 3 years. It's like they have been sitting on their fucking hands.

waiting till 2018 to refresh the FX/QX70 is ridiculous. That means the current model which came out in August of 2008, will have been around for almost 10 years.

Go find me another vehicle which has a design cycle of 10 years. that's ridiculous. Infiniti really dropped the ball here.
G-WAGON! :-)

Haha. Fair enough.

Yeah the F-Pace is actually a pretty good value as well, I'm surprised how reasonable the price seems. I also dig the looks of the new XC90, but it's more expensive than the F-Pace
XC90 R Design is about $60k [emoji4] thats one sexy ride !!

Def won't happen to your ride man!!....and there are still 1st Gens on this forum that are still head tuners after 12 years.

1st Gen Head Turners: In 2003, I originally fell in love with the first FX45 in Berylillum and bought one immediately. (What a nice car and a nice exhaust growl too). When Infiniti changed the front end look, I did not like it, but stayed with Infiniti, buying one or two FX35s, later an FX37. My wife bought a G35 Coupe and later some M Sedans. I still do not like the front end look of their current cars, as it reminds me of a fish mouth (sorry Infiniti). Nevertheless my wife and I stayed with Infiniti and it is a good car and we had no service visits for 2 cars (hers and mine) for 10 years. I kept waiting for a body style change and thought for sure that the new Q and QX name would bring something great, but it didn't happen. In my opinion, the name "Q" change was a huge mistake and still is. I still call any Infiniti SUV an FX.

As as result, my wife and I both bought new Lincolns in 2015 (MKZ and MKC) and were very happy with the cars. I just traded my 2015 MKC for a new 2017 MKC and am still happy with the brand. However my wife recently and unexpectedly traded in her 2015 MKZ sedan on a 2016 QX50! What a nice car and the grille is about the same as the original FX. I don't know how many sales are gained or lost by the looks of a grille on a car, but probably more than the engineers realize. In fact, we looked at Lincolns for serveral years and did not buy due to the very aggressive grille, which was finally changed in 2015. At the auto show in Cleveland that year I mentioned that I was not a prospect for Lincoln ever since they came out with such an intimidating grille and the Lincoln factory rep told me that this was not the first time he had heard this. When Lincoln changed their look in 2015 their sales soared.

I agree that Infiniti is badly in need of a new look and a new image. I plan to take a look at the new QX30 when it arrives, but the "QX" name is turning me off (sorry Infiniti). However I like the concept of a 4 cylinder engine, as the fuel savings and performance are both outstanding and a lot more than I expected with our Lincolns. I was strictly a V8 guy - later reluctantly accepting a V6 with my FX35s and FX37. Now the upcoming new supercharged 4 cylinder Ford and Lincoln engines are almost as powerful as a V8, but with great mileage (25-30 mpg). I notice that the new QX30 will have a Mercedes 4 cylinder turbo-charged engine and I expect a gradual change to this type of engine in the future with all brands.

My wife and I have been looking at a Macan, but were hoping for a 4 cylinder (now available in 2017) and may just buy one. One thing that I do not like on the Macan is the ugly black lower door side treatment. Otherwise the car is great. As soon as the new QX30 arrives (already late from a promised date of mid-2016), I plan to take a good look and my second choice is a Macan if I can find one without the black painted side door treatment.

Bottom Line: Infinit needs to quickly make some design changes if they are to retain interest in their products. It is probably too late for a name change from "Q", but of more importance is to at least do something with their QX70. They hardly even advertise that car any more and I am wondering if it will later be discontinued ?????

I have a Q50 Redsport as a loner and my fingers are crossed this 3.0t makes it in the new FX.

That Red Sport must feel so niiiice !!!! Isnt it like 400 + hp ?!?

I watched aYouTube review on it and the reviewer said rhe engine was awesome but the styling was very bland since there was little indication how special the engine was ?!?!

For those who like " sleepers " !??!

Yeah, its pretty nice. I have a friend with a e92 M3 with SMG software update and this Red Sport feels every bit as fast. The DBW + turbo lag can be annoying but overall a very good power plant.

the biggest issue with the car is no LSD.

I know that the current FX/QX has been around since the 2009 model year, but lookswise, I think it still is one of the best-looking crossovers out there. The styling aged very well. I got rid of the OEM 18's on my 2011 FX35 for OEM 20's and it was a night and day difference. Although the powertrain is outdated, it's still pretty quick for a crossover.

not smg but DCT, and software update is actually not allowed and available at dealers but only with local tuners because it is the gts german stock software

Land Rover Defender. Before the Defender, only 3 other major revisions where done to that vehicle going back to 1948.

A refresh and an entire overall is way overdue for the FX.

I've been waiting the last couple of years for it but Infinite just doesn't seem as if it's interested with this line any longer which sucks ?!?!
