2016 Q50 Questions...

Recently lost my FX35 to an accident and now considering a 2016 Q50 Sport.
Some things I'm concerned about: the longevity of the steering rack (I went through two in 6 years on my FX!)... and whether AWD option adds extra weight or is worth getting?

Sorry about your car. I did have the q50 as a loaner for a couple of days, it was the base 3.0T engine rear wheel drive and I really enjoyed driving it. Felt solid and light and was fun tossing it around corners. It was the 2019 model year though. Those cars can be found for very reasonable price while it’s only 2-3 years old. Not sure about long term reliability though but I would take that any day over German alternatives.
 
You scare me with all this steering rack talk. We're you lowered or otherwise modified?

Mine feels super tight at 138k
