2013 Kia K9 Flagship AKA The BMW 7 series

Agree with you completely... it is indeed nice but too bad not a original design. Sigh, Kia...

Looks great. I think they hired a chief designer from Audi so some influences were brought over.

they did.

I'm not sure about this K9, but I really like the Optima..

Korean cars have come a long way, and I give them props for that. I remember a while back, I posted (here on :iS: ) about the Hyundai Genesis and there were some negative comments. I love the car... yes, even though it looks like a rip off of a lot of other cars, but still, for what you get with the price you pay? It's a better bang for your buck. Just my .02

Kia's come a long way. I was at the Seoul Auto show 2 years ago and they unveiled the K7.
I have to admit it was pretty nice. Lots of features that come standard.

IMO Korea in general has come a long way... Seriously, 10 years ago, where was Samsung? NOWHERE close to where they are today. They basically shut down Sony's TV branch. Remember there was a time when people bought TVs, it was ALWAYS a Sony? (or RCA if you're old enough lol)

The Koreans are definitely catching up with the Japanese for reliability and technology and also beating them in the looks department.

Chiming in...

The current line-up of Kia models' reliability has yet to be seen. However, their offerings are well-equipped for the price.

A good buddy of mine picked up a fully-loaded Optima SX. Better warranty than 90% of luxury car makers, gets 34mpg, hits 14.1 in the 1/4 and gets .9g's on a skidpad -all with front-wheel drive for a little over $25,000. Feels just like a luxury car in every way possible and it doesn't look like a bag of mashed asshole.

I saw a couple of reviews on motor week of some Kia's and there were complaints of lot of road noise. They commented on how nice the interior looks but up close the feel of the hard plastic that was used had a lot left to be desired. Looks good but didn't feel good. I guess that's where the cheap cost comes into factor. Can't use better materials and fit and finish like luxury manufacturers but you can achieve the look.

I'm kinda diggin it to be honest
