2013 Infiniti JX Review

Man Im not liking the new models that they are coming out with. I think that they are doing a good job at all their 2nd gens.

It's a shame about that CVT though. A deal breaker for me.

I know a lot of members don't like CVT. my wife's car is currently CVT and doesn't seem bad. Is it just because you prefer to feel the shifts or another reason it's a deal breaker?

Most people who would drive the JX I'm guessing would want a CVT transmission for the smooth shiftness and low maintenance.

I've driven a few CVTs from loaners to rentals and they were all uninspiring. It was probably just being unaccustomed to the feel of the tranny, but I just couldn't get use to it in the short time I was driving them.

I'm not saying it's a bad system at all, just that it's not for me yet.

CVTs are junk, we replace about 4 a week at the dealership...thats probably why the warranty these transmissinons for 10 years.

I also do not like the feel of driving a car with one.

I do like CVT's as a concept, and i like how they drive in terms of comfort and fuel economy, but in reality they are all far too unreliable and weak when mated to even a moderately powerful engine. DaVinci never intended them to be on anything more powerful than a bicycle...
