2011 vs 2012 brake pads

Looking at getting some brake pads for my 2012 FX35. Looks like the part numbers for 2011 FX35 are not the same as the 2012 FX35. Can anyone confirm whether the brake pads are interchangeable? Main reason I ask is because I want to get Akebono ACT888 and ACT905 pads, but the Akebono site does not show these pads are compatible with the 2012 FX35.

I am due to change my front brake pads for the first time for my 2010 FX35. I have changed rear brake pads already at Infiniti dealer.

At a local tire shop, I was given a quote for changing to Akebono pads with Brembo rotors. They said it's better than the OEM. The price for Akebono pads is $160 per set, and $210 for each Brembo rotor. The total with labour and brake fluid flush and tax is around $900. These are Canadian price.

Are these Akebono/Brembo sets better and worth the difference?
 
I guess the reason for the different part numbers is the difference in material / compound?
