2011 subwoofer wiring.... Please help..

Hi everybody, I was trying to wire up a bazzoka tube today and was stumped, the wiring in the 2011 is definatley changed from 08, and I can't find the wiring diagram anywhere. In the 2011 the white larger white wire is constant there is a larger black wire( I asume ground),then a thin red that gives me less voltage (with key on),then a thin green one that also gives less voltage(with key on)and a thin grey that had no voltage. Any help would be appreciated, Thank's.

I do like the Bose system,I just think it could use a little more bass for a full sound.
I had a chance to recheck the wiring (with a voltmeter), it turns out the grey wire is the remote(12.6 volt) and the red and green wires are at 6.1 volts, does this mean the red and green are both positve speaker wires?.this is the part I don't get.

The quickest and easiest way to get WAY more bass from your stock system is to upgrade the sub amp. The oem unit is located inside the spare tire subwoofer...

The stock enclosure and drivers are probably better than a bazooka tube, for sound quality and volume. The weak link is the amplification.

2003-2008 FX wiring:
Subwoofer signal: Positive- White
Negative- Black
-Amplifier Ground-Black
-Amplifier Turn-on- Pink
-Amplifier Constant Power- Gray (2003)
Green/Red (2004+)

So I would assume for 2009+:
Larger white wire = Constant from battery
Larger Black Wire = Ground
Small white wire = subwoofer input +
small black wire = subwoofer input -
red or green = remote

Take a picture or the connections and open up the sub so we can see the connections in there too...we may be able to help more.

I will try to add a pic today.

Nevermind figured it out,

Anyone with a 2011 fx35 the wiring for the subwoofer is,

Thick white wire= constant 12 volt power
Thick black wire= ground
Grey wire= remote 12 volt switched
red wire= positive + speaker terminal
green wire= negative - speaker terminal

I do not know if the 09,10 are the same.

How do you upgrade the stock amp? Specifically, what are the specs of the amp which would be best without overwhelming the stock subwoofer. I have an 09 with the Bose and I too think it could use some more base. Thanks

Getting an upgrade within a few days. Really not happy with the stock sub. I think it's 5 or 6.5in. The soundstage in the car is great and all, but low frequency is coming out of the speakers in the doors, making this puffy midrange "eugh" noise, and I couldn't tell the sub was on from the front seat. I love the compactness of the current "sub" and how it is hidden away, but anything under 8in doesn't count as a "subwoofer", and I'd actually argue anything under 10in (with current technology). Going with 13in JL ~1200W. I'll report back if I remember to. Cheers

I have an 04, so my subwoofer may be different than yours, but this is what I did:

1. open up the stock subwoofer enclosure. On the 1st gens, the amp is marked "100 watts" and the individual drivers (there are two 5.25" woofers) are marked "1 ohm". Rewiring the drivers in series yields a 2 ohm load, which is very common in car audio.

2. Find an amp that can provide at least 100 watts (or whatever your drivers will handle) and is stable @2ohms. This won't be very difficult. The one I'm using is rated at 200 watts rms into 2 ohms and is considered "tiny" in the mono subwoofer amp world.

3. Remove and replace. You'll definitely want a dedicated power cable for the new amp, it certainly won't fit in the oem location, and sometimes amps require a higher voltage from a remote line than the stock sub uses, but these are relatively minor details that are easily overcome.

Also, the golden rule with matching amps with speakers in regard to wattage is to avoid distortion. You can run a 100 watt speaker with a 1000 watt amp as long as you don't push the driver into distortion. It works the same way in reverse as well. (1000 watt speaker with a 100 watt amp while avoiding distortion.)

I realize I'm resurrecting a really old thread, but I am considering going to a bazooka tube since my wife's used 2011 fx was missing the woofer when we bought it. Has this beem figured out?

Sorry to revive this thread... But does anyone know if the 2nd red/green speaker wires on the stock spare tire sub are low output so i can just tap with rcas or will i need a LOC with rca cables to the aftermarket amp?
