Hello...

Just picked up a 2011 Garnet Red AWD Journey... the headlights seem a little tired .... as I understand it 3+ years and perhaps the HID bulbs have lost a bit of their strength.

Infiniti replacements sell for $140 each.... not sure if they're worth the money?

Phillips DS2 replacements run around $40 each... not sure if they're worth the money?

Please advise on bulb replacement options & experience?

According to PartsSource - my VIN reads 'standard' bulbs which says Halogens... may sound dumb but I'm not certain I have Halogens ... with the assumption I do - I went with RetroSource H11: Morimoto Elite HID System - spec'd XB55 (50W) & H11B: XB 5500K ...

I don't do a lot of night driving but when i do the area's in NJ I'm in are very dark so I wanted the most power/light I could for the $ - with my aging eyes this should prove a good upgrade....

I tried checking the bulbs today and on the EX35 it's very very tight squeeze to get into the low beam headlight bulbs... I'm not sure I'm going to be able to do this install...

any one got any do it yourself how to's?

It could be done with out removing anything major, but it is a tight squeeze. Pull the plastic cover up so you can get a little extra room. If your vin says you have halogen then your bulb is H11. Those aren't as strong as the Xenon DS2. What you can do is get an after market HiD kit plug and play very easy to set up. You can get them on eBay all sorts cheap and not so cheap. I'll try and make a video in a few days, can't post it here since I'm new, I'll upload it to YouTube.
