Has anyone been able to bypass the grayed out menus and other features on the new 2010 navigation. I lover the car but it annoys the hell out of me that I cannot program the navi while driving. Thanks

I think that is good feature, but it would be nice if passengers could use it while you are driving. It's the same as all those dickweeds out there talking or texting on their cell phones while driving .

You can on the new M I heard.

I hate that you can't, but at least the Voice Navigation works during driving... but it takes forever.... YES I KNOW THE BACK BUTTON WILL TAKE ME BACK OR CANCEL THE COMMAND!

Any update on 2010 FX35 navi & tv bypass?? I bought a 2010 FX35 about 2 weeks ago and would love to get at least the navi bypass.

Thanks!

People here and on the org have performed this hack by putting a switch on the vss speed wire on the back of the AV unit and by grounding the parking brake wire.. The former needs to be on a switch instead of being cut; if just cut, the gps positioning is choppy as it needs to reacquire every few seconds. Putting it on a simple toggle switch allows you to input your commands and then switch it off to have a smooth gps location signal. The grounding of the parking brake will also let you watch dvds on your unit or use the aux inputs while the car is in motion.

Just a couple quick questions. Might seem really silly but i am a certified electronics n00b.

1. Where is the best place to ground the first wire at? Do I need to buy extra wire to extend the wire after i make the cut or is there a screw close by?

2. So with the VSS wire i just make the cut close to the connector, then attach a switch to both ends of that cut wire right? (With extra length of wire of course to place the switch more conveniently)

3. Where is the best place to put the VSS switch at? I know its personal preference, but i'd like to see where you guys put it and then consider the options.
