I like 2nd gen FX a lot. But I so much regretted that I bought new FX with 18" rims. But i didn't want wood in car with 20".

18" makes a FX look like "unfinished product". 1st gen 20" not expensive at all and I think look very good on 2nd gen.

I know this thread is pretty old, so I’ll consider myself lucky if it revives. I am in a similar position - I got 20” rims from the first gen and want to use them on my second gen. OP - did you find a set of lug nuts that work?

Unfortunately the lug nuts from the second gen won’t work with these rims. The studs don’t stick out as far with the first gen rims, so they can’t get enough thread contact. I’ve gone to a couple of tire places trying to find lug nuts that will fit, but apparently they don’t have any that would.

The seat of the factory wheels are completely difference. The 1st Gen is conical seat. The 2nd Gen is max seat. You need conical lug nuts from 1st Gen to go with 1st Gen wheel. The thread is the same for both. M12 x 1.5.
