2009 FX50 S
Was looking for a "factory" install to add a Daytime Running Light option to my 2009 FX50. Came across these LED DRL lights and LED fog lights all in one that replace the factory fog lights. These have a separate LED fog light and a separate 2 bar LED DRL. Didn't see a review anywhere so took a flyer on them and wanted to report back if anyone else was interested that I'm really pleased and surprised by them:

These are also available on Amazon and other sellers on Aliexpress but this was the cheapest I found them.

Install: I put the front wheels of the FX up on ramps and removed the bottom plastic skid plate and clips on the bottom of the bumper and removed the screws from the wheel well trim. Then I was able to push the wheel well liner aside and get access the back of the fog lights. Used a creeper underneath and access is pretty tight and I'm sure others have better methods but this worked for me. They replace the factory fog lights and use the fog light wiring harness for the LED fog lights portion. The DRL portion has a separate wire that runs from each light and joins to a single wire. This provides power for the 2 LED bars of the daytime running light portion of the fog lights. This wire goes to an ACC power to turn the DRL lights on. I ran these with an inline fuse to a relay by the battery that is powered when the FX is on, engine on = DRL on. I was looking at controllers that turn the DRL off when the headlights come on and might add one but they're low and don't blind folks at night. You maintain the separate fog light control and can turn the LED foglights on and off with the stalk switch just like factory.

Impressions: For what I wanted and the cost I'm pretty impressed with the factory replacement of the stock fog lights and adding the DRL portion. They aren't too bright to look out of place but are noticeable. The fog light portion is really bright and has a nice clean cut line. Only hiccup is one of the fog lights didn't click into the factory harness as well as the other. I taped it but it worked loose after a month so I added some zip ties to keep the connection tight. Let me know if you have any questions :smile (2):Here are some pics:

Wow, impressed about aliexpress. I wasn't sure about quality!

I'll keep looking at them and might put some on mine too.

don't love the look of the 2 bars, but love people taking initiative and ordering different stuff for the FX to see if it works! This can lead to other custom fog setups..

I found these while looking for motorcycle lighting. Anyone tried them?

[Dead Link Removed]

Also, does anyone have the dimensions of the fog lights? mainly the diameter and depth

TRS is very good with their FX after market lighting system. I have their fog HID conversation kit on my first gen and no issues with fitment. I have a friend who purchased an LEF fog lamp housing from TRS for his Pathfinder and the fitment is flush like factory specs. What I'm saying is this will most likely be a very good fit like TRS product lines.

I'm working on installing their projectors retrofit in my bike's headlight; so far their HID system works really well. And love their easy harness. Good quality products overall on every purchase. Do you have the HID to the LED on your FX? If its LED, how bright is it?
