Decided to keep my 09 fx50s, so i want to do a few upgrades, want some input from you guys. First, id love to upgrade the nav and have the option for bt audio output (i believe only 2012 and up had this feature) my question is can i simply get parts from a 2012+ and make it work? Theres a guy on Ebay that sells kits for this upgrade for over 2k.

Has anyone done this or something similar?

I purchased 3 different bluetooth music modules that plug into the aux in the center console and not one of them worked. Paid $15-40 for them on amazon.

That being said there are some that work or you can tap into the ipod cable for aux. Definitely can be done for cheaper than $2k...

I actually bought a taotrinics bt transmitter from Amazon the other day for $20 or so. Hooked uo to the aux it works pretty good. Really thinking about the grom vline setup. Would like ti talk to someone who has it before making the purchase.

can you post the link to the one you used? I tried 3 different ones none worked.

I fell in love again with my 2009 FX35 No NAV . Today I upgraded my Entertainment system with Grom VLINE 2.

Insane how these people of GROMAUDIO built this plug'n play module to add Carplay, Android Auto and standalone android system. Definitely the investment worth it.

Here is my very first picture during testing drive.

I have a 2012 with nav and still can't get apple or Android Bluetooth music.

Only calls.

Have you synced both? For me it was a two step process... sync audio and then sync the phone. Took me a few days to figure that out when I bought the vehicle.

I'll try that. I'm pretty diy and tech savvy and gave up after wasting about 2 hours.

Are you apple or Android so I do apples to apples testing?

Alright got it working. I found a bulletin to dealers about Bluetooth troubleshooting.

Step 1 - go to Infiniti phone Bluetooth compatibility check website and punch in your phone details to confirm its supported.

Step 2 - add phone as phone device first.

Step 2.5 - most important*** WAIT for phone book to load after pairing phone, this can take 2.5 minutes and does not indicate it is taking place......

Once step 2.5 is complete, proceed to 3.

3.) Add device as audio device.

That did the trick for me. I would have never figured out that step 2.5 running in the background causes errors with step 3. Like it would pair and everything but the audio was shit and skipped and was laggy.

Glad you got it working. I really couldn’t remember if the sequence mattered, but apparently it does.

one caveat... I never synced my address book.
