2009 FX35 Rear Armrest Strap Fix

Anyone know how to put the rear armrest strap back on? I've removed the cupholder insert and also removed the lid by taking out the screws, but I cannot get to the spot to screw the strap and spacer back on as the leather cover is too tight. I saw someone in another post said they were able to fix this by removing the rear armrest, but I have not been able to figure out how to remove the armrest.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you ever fix the rear arm rest strap on your FX? I broke mine off and I have a new one but spent a couple of hours trying to figure out how to get the the screw with out messing up my arm rest.
