All models have a light in the coin holder/ ash tray. But the headlights must be on and the coin hold opened for it to illuminate.

And yes I've worked on the door handle lights. You need to cut off the old bulb and solder a new LED on to it.

Here is what the bulb looks like that I cut out. It's a smaller diode than what you normally see:

I've wired it up a few days ago to the car and everything works. I just need to find a cleaner way to install it.

Where did you end up buying 5k LED bulbs like that?

Didn't buy them anywhere. For some reason I already had them. Found them in a storage container in the garage with different screws lol. Wish I knew where they came from.

Nice that worked out perfect for you lol

Took a door handle apart last night for a better look. The black plastic socket that holds the led is the key and it is probably an Infiniti only item, only comes w/ the led in it, etc. It should not be a big deal to remove the stock led, drill the socket if necessary, and put in another one (white, blue, red, whatever). However I'm not sure I can remove the stock led without destroying it. What was your experience?

I've installed it and it works but the install doesn't look too clean because I cut the LED off the wire. I'm trying to figure out another way to do it.

I changed out all the Interior bulbs to LED's awhile back and I'm sure everyone knows who has the 2nd gen that foot well lights stay on and very bright with the LED's while driving. It looks cool, but sometimes I want to be able to dim them. Is there any way I can do this?

They can be dimmed the same way you can dim your guage cluster.

How long did it take you to change all the interior lights? Is there a DIY guide somewhere that I can use? I was also thinking of changing the license plate lights to LED's. Any DIY for that as well?

probably about an hour doing it the first time...much much less if you know exactly what you are doing.
