2009-2012 Infiniti FX35/FX50: Fuel Gauge Reads "Empty" After Filling Tank

Alright guys - I fixed it! It takes about 1 hour (30 mins if you are fast..) and 14$ in parts (2 springs - Infiniti part
17036-3GW0A
) and a screwdriver. The root cause is there is only one spring so it allows the assembly to get cock eyed and eventually binds up in place.

The fix is to remove the old spring and install 2 (instead of 1) NEW model springs so it pushes evenly.View attachment 604972 View attachment 604973 View attachment 604974 (the new springs is about 1/4 inch shorter) BIG thanks to my manual for having the TSB, repair instructions and individual part #s so I didnt have to buy a new pump.

Picks included. I did this in the parking lot at my apartment, no special tools needed.

I have the TSB with full instructions in PDF. If someone needs it, PM me and ill send it. (not sure of legality of including it publicly)

Hi Kroaler,
Any chance you can send the instructions to me at vicfelix1@gmail.com

i replaced both the sending unit in driver side and fuel pump assembly with both new parts and the gauge is stuck at 3 quarters tank. What would be my next step?

After changing my Sending & Fuel pump again, my gauge still reads 3 quarters full... doesnt go below that at all, when in reality i know tha tank is below the mid range (3 wuarters empty)....
but i found this video and other than getting a code, whichg i dont, it makes sense:

I ordered a used Temp Control Unit on ebay and will test.

Back Story: My fuel gauge would not go down on my 2010 FX35, it would stay stuck at full.... i
changed the sending unit and the fuel pump and have been dealing with this issue for almost 2 years.... then i came across this video:

Apparently the sending unites circuits goes through the AC Control Module! I ordered a used one on ebay and installed and it fixed my issue... when i opened the old one, boom... the 161 circuits needed to be soldered as mine came out.

The issue I once had was that the sensor told me I had fuel but in reality it was empty and I ran out of gas. Luckily down the street from my house lol
