2009-2012 Infiniti FX35/FX50 AC Compressor Whine/Low Pitch Noise

I wasn't referring to your specific diagnosis. I'd have no idea if I had the wrong hose until I tried to install I suppose. I was referring in
general to car AC systems. They're not as bad as most people think. It's 3 major parts, evaporator, compressor, condenser plus a lot of plumbing.

BTW, how did a bad hose ruin your compressor? Obviously if it didn't fit well, you'd lose all refrigerant. If pressure is low, the compressor won't kick in to prevent damage. Did the bad hose allow debris into the compressor?

I actually never asked this question directly but they did say the previous dealership modified the hose to make it fit....probably because in their eyes it was the right part since it belonged to that vin. When I say hose it's really comprised of multiple pieces and hoses from what I remember seeing. I also found out that the piece that actually fixes the noise is just one piece out of the hose package. Reason I know this is because it delayed me getting my car another 2 days. Originally Infiniti sent the same hoses that were on the car that screwed things up which the tech recognized was not right and got in touch with tech line. Then they overnighted the right hose package but then the piece that gets rid of the noise had to be again replaced from that package that Infiniti sent. Obviously you can still order the original non bulletin pieces. You would think they would just automatically never send out a part that was replaced to resolve an issue.

Great info, going to look into my account now. Haven't heard much noise but It definitely has not been getting ice cold anymore.

any news on this?

would really like to get this resolved before my extended warranty runs out...
it's pretty freaking annoying especially when you're just parked and it just keeps on humming...

I had my AC compressor changed 1 1/2 years ago under warranty, it was really loud and whining. It's been quiet ever since.
