2008 Navigation feature addition

Just purchased a 2008 FX35 without navigation. It has back up camera. color lcd, cd changer, blue tooth, etc. Is there anyway to add navigation with out adding another screen. I have searched the forums, I do not see anything specific about this particular year, which seems to have a key feature, the color lcd.

Congrats! I believe the standard color screen/backup cam started in 2006. We don't have nav either, but we're content on using our Garmin whenever we travel. I had thought about looking at adding whatever was necessary to have a builtin nav, but didnt see the time or cost worth the effort.

There is as I just did it. It's called prodigy one navigation. It has a bunch of features and works with your current system I believe. I think 2006 is within range ...mine is a 2008 even though it doesn't say 2008... http://directusnav.com/?portfolio=prodigy-one-nissan-kit

See what ya think...works great and I have the wifi, USB port, and radar detector installed.

Good luck

Good question...had the dealership pay to put it in when I bought my fx...so not sure exactly but I'm guessing around 1600-2000 but don't quote me on that

Do your OE Buttons on dash column still work? What about your steering wheel?
Could you post pic of how this unit works?

Did you install it yourself?

i am interested!

I found the navigation system from a totaled car. it is from a 2008 model. Does anybody have any experience replacing the OEM without nav with an OEM with Nav?

I believe Turbocad (a very experienced and intelligent member here) did it. I may be wrong, let me see if I can dig it up. If I recall correctly, the "navigation system" you mention you got from a totaled car actually consists of a few components (antenna, harness, buttons, pcm, etc.)
