we just picked up an 08 fx35 with 40k miles from our local infiniti dealer, the day after we got it i noticed the a/c clutch is abnormally loud. you can hear it making noise when you are inside the car and you can hear it when you are standing outside.
we had the infiniti dealer pick the car up a few days ago and they gave us a new g25x for a loaner.
of course the g25 doesnt make any noise when you turn on a/c
the infiniti dealer is saying the noise is "normal" and when i asked how come the loaner car doesn't make noise his rebuttal was because the a/c system in the FX is alot "beefier" than the g25
so i guess my question is:
are the a/c compressor clutches inherently loud on the FX's ?or is what im hearing the start of the compressor clutch failing?
my only other recourse i see is having him show me 2 or 3 other fx's on the lot that are just as noisy.
p.s. i am aware of the tsb about noisy belts and the dealer said everything checked out with that and its not a tension pulley issue
