2007 FX35-- RPM is higher than other model?

Hi, I have the 2007 FX35 AWD.
I am a Nissan fan, I had owned most of the nissan models since 90's
while I drive my wife's FX on the hiway, I found that the RPM is higher than other 3.5L engine models from Nissan.
around 65 MPH, the RPM is around 2500.. that's around 300-400 higher than the Maxima or the G ,, feel like driving a Honda

is this the design from Nissan or just my FX ?

I think thats normal for the fx with 5 speed transalthoigh i cant confirm ....
I think if you do a rpm search there was a similar thread

I have 2nd gen FX (different engine). Doing around 65 mph my RPM is around 2100-2300

Not sure about the Maxima but I know the 1st gen G has the same trans and a higher final drive than the rwd FX (3.5 vs 3.3). That would equate to a difference opposite that which you've described...

You are hauling around a heavier vehicle too. You need the rpm's to get the power to move it at the same speed as a lighter car.
