Hello, I just recently purchased a 2007 FX35 AWD for my wife to use instead of our gas guzzling 1999 K2500 454 4x4 Suburban LOL.
Already loving the FX35, but as it's an '07 in Nova Scotia salt, it has it's issues. Some rocker repair, some exhaust patching and it should pass inspection.
I am experiencing a few minor issues. The heater fan was vibrating something terrible....fixed that, there were about 7 acorns in the squirrel cage fan LOL.
The rear wiper does not work, I've located the fuse panel behind the battery, but I'm not seeing a fuse labelled as such...is it the 15A wiper deicer fuse?
The other issue is at times the Handsfree does not work, the orange light at the mic does not come on. Restart and it may come on or it may take a few tries....is this poor ground(s) related.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello and welcome, I can't help you with any of your current issues, but if anything else comes up let me know. I am in Dartmouth and have a 09 FX50.

Thanks. There's more rust underneath than I had expected, I'm hoping i can get 2 to 3 years out of it, then upgrade to a newer model if I'm still liking it as much as I am currently. Loving the pep of the 3.5, can only imagine the 5.0! Maybe I'll get a FX50 next
We had (have no longer on road) a Suzuki SX4 AWD. While it got better gas mileage than the FX35 will get it was on the small side. I'm 6'2", I fit ok in it, but not overly comfortable for long drives. The FX35 is a lot smaller than my 3/4 4x4 Suburban, so that will be nice for visiting my daughter at Dalhousie. Easier to wheel around in the FX than in that tank LOL. Still I love my Suburban, it's just not meant to be a daily work commute vehicle.
Found out the rear wiper pivot pin is seized. There is power at the plug and motor turned when the seized pivot pin was unhooked from the cam arm inside. So I may try and remove it another day and soak it in WD40 and see if I can free it up or find one from a junk yard. Cleaned up the battery terminals and the negative to body fitting. Car has been started at least 1/2 a dozen times and the handsfree has come on every time so far, so here's hoping it stays that way.
How long have you had your FX50? Any issues with it?

I bought the FX50 in Dec 2018. I was looking for a FX35 but the deal on the FX50 was excellent. I flew to Ottawa and drove it back. So far, the only issues have been a tensioner bearing went on the power steering, and I battled a P0014 code that ended up being a VVT solenoid. I am very happy with the car, except for the nav system. The maps are way out of date and since it is a 2009, the update is more than I am willing to pay.

underneath the steering wheel there is another fuse panel

Yes, found that one, and 2 under the hood by the battery. Still haven't found a fuse labelled rear wiper though .

So I have power at the motor, surprisingly. The pin the wiper mounts to is seized inside the aluminum housing. I'll have to remove it again and try soaking it in penetrating fluid and see if I can free it up.

Thanks for the technical info

Another issue has made itself known. Sometimes the car will not start, no fire, no sputter, nothing, just whirls over. Stop and try again and it fires right up....like it's a security issue stopping spark and/or fuel.
Anyone experience this before?

I tried to find a description of the starting issue in that thread, youtube video links were dead. The AC Amplifier issue, is that a slow turning over issue? That would make sense if it's malfunctioning and engaging the AC compressor creating undo load for the starter/battery combination.
But my starting issue is not due to slow turning over of the engine, it turns over fast enough, just nothing other than turning over, like the spark and/or fuel has been cut off.
Is this the same starting issue people have fixed with the AC Amp replacement??

The AC Amplifier has nothing to do with the Air Conditioning system in the car. Not sure why this module is call the AC Amplifier. It is a circuitry box behind the radio head unit. Bad AC Amplifier causes no start issues or cold weather/temperature start up issues. There are lots of info in those threads.
