Hey guys. I finally have enough money to buy the FX iv been wanting for quite some time now. 2006 FX45-black. I deployed earlier this year to pay off some debts and now im here again so ill have the cash to pay for it and a few mods. I dont get home untill september but i'm pretty good buddies with a dealer and he can hook me up with anything cheaper than i can find on the net. One thing i wanted to know before i make my purchase is are there any known problems with the FX's? and like how much are maintenance costs and such. i know my BMW right now is retarded expensive even for little things. any input would be awsome, thanks fellas
 
Welcome to iS! I guess repairs and maintenance are somewhat expensive. Pretty easy to do alot yourself though and save money. I just did my second oil change today. Costs me about $33 with Mobil 1 oil and filter. Not really many problems, especially with the later years.
 
i hope so, iv pretty much lived in the desert this year to pay for it. i sure hope its worth it. is the gas mileage really as bad as they say it is on the 45's?

you will still have factory warranty on a 06 so the major stuff will be taken care of. Other then the regular stuff ( 30/60/90 service) my fx is running great.

Also make sure the FX you are getting is fully checked out by someone who knows cars . One member here bought a FX that was in a flood and he is now finding out the problems associated with water damage.

thanks again guys. im not to worried about the cindition of the car, i trust the dude im workin with quite a bit. i just read about the water damage, kinda turned my stomach. thanks for the heads up
 
Any maintance for the FX are pretty easy.. I have done my oil change,brakes pads and tires rotation.. Save good chunk there.. And if you want to know the few problem FXes have use the search bar bro.. Not long ago someone asked the same question.. But if you buy it you'll love the performance and everything else..
