2006 FX35 door chrome trim rusting

Did everyone elses chrome start to trust to? I was thinking about taking it apart and maybe use some Plasti-dip on it. Has anybody tried using CLR on it?

I'm so glad I don't live in an area where there's so much snow. Lol
What you can do is sand it, then plasti dip over it.

If you're going to use CLR, I would take around the chrome trim.. idk how CLR reacts with car paint.

Just wrap it with vinyl. Are talking about a window door trim or lower door trim?

How does it rust? It's not steel. If the chrome is pitting or flaking from the salt/weather, I could see that. I don't think Plastidip would really help much. You may have to actually sand/paint the parts. Any pictures of what's going on?

It's the lower door trim. It's snowing and dark out so I'll snap some photos tomorrow to show you guys.

I wrapped it on mine. On 2003-2005 its actually some kind of foil covered in thick clear plastic, so it looks like chrome. Not sure about 06-08 though

It's just plastic. You some polish on it and you should be fine. Brasso or Eagle One should be fine.

I just got mine wrapped in carbon fiber, looks amazing. I'm just waiting to get my mirrors wrapped and will post some pictures.

Weather in T.O is quite ugly right now so I have not had a chance to take any full shots of the vehicle, but I did upload a quick close up the trim for your reference. Just go into my garage and you can see a nice close up of the detail, it turned out very nice. I will post more pics when the mirrors arrive and my grill gets wrapped (~ 2 weeks).
