I just noticed today that the Daytime Running Lights on my 2006 FX35 are both out. I checked the DTRL Fuse and it looked fine but I replaced it with a spare fuse anyway. Is it possible that both lights burnt out at the same time? or if one burns out does the other automatically stop working? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Quick Update: Just tried replacing the two bulbs and still not working. Any suggestions that could be provided are greatly appreciated. I'd like to try and avoid a large invoice for Electrical System diagnostics if I can. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that dtrl are not activated on the US model fx but search for dtrl mod which should show you how to activate the dtrl's to function, something with a relay next to the battery I think, but point is there's nothing wrong with your fx, all first gen fx's don't have functioning dtrls

if that's the case then still searching for the dtrl activation procedure would give him a place to start looking I guess...

I am in Canada. It is a US model, but I had the DTRL activated by the dealership when I bought the car 6 years ago and I believe they installed the Canadian Module. They were working fine. Of course I am not sure exactly when they stopped working because I only noticed it this past weekend when my wife was driving the car and I happened to be driving in front of her in our other car and looked in the rearview. Hoping that it is an inexpensive fix, otherwise I was thinking I would just drive with my headlights on all the time as I don't drive the car very often as it is not our "family" car. Any additional thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Looking at the dtrl mod will give you info on one way of doing the DTRL's

Do the DTRL box lights turn on when you turn the headlights on? (this would be the low beam of the bulb)

Also if you have LED's in there, it seems if one is disconnected/reversed the other one also doesn't work. not sure why.

If you do have the DTRL module, it may have failed or got disconnected. You could do the DTRL mod to comply with the law (though they become more of accessory lights rather than true DTRL)
