Hi All. Lately my FX is giving me a wired problem. The issue is most prominent during the first start in the morning.

Once i start the car, and put it on Reverse to pull out of the parking bay, all is good. But now when i put the car on Drive and leave the brake, the car doesn't wanna move. It takes 3-5 seconds and then i feel a jerk, which means car is ready to go now.

This happens every time i put the car on Drive, but the first time in the morning is worst.

Its like the gear is taking longer to get engaged.

Any clue's what the issue could be ?

Check your tranny fluid level. I had a kind of similar experience before. My radiator failed and caused the tranny oil tube to be damaged and very slow leakage cause not enough oil in the tranny, so the gear engage is very very slow, especially the low gear. You should still have your 6 year power-tran warranty. If you can't find the problem, take it to the dealer.

Thanks. I am not sure how to check if the radiator is working. I made an service appointment with Infiniti dealer for this Friday. Will update once i know what the issue is.

Hello Guys. I posted this question some time back and never found a resolution to the issue. I tried the Infiniti service twice, left my car with them over night, with no luck. They couldn't reproduce the issue, that's what they say.

Issue: Every time i put the car on Drive (D), it takes time to lock into the gear (3-4 sec's) and i fell a sudden jerk every time.

I have been dealing with this a long time now, and i recently found that if i push on the brake pedal every hard and then put the car in Drive, its fairly smooth. I don't feel as much jerk and the shift is almost instant.

Does this shed any light on what the problem could be?
