2005 Infiniti FX35, has 135k mileage, has been giving me probs, so I signed up to understand the situation. Took the vehicle to the dealer and 3 other shops. Each had a different opinion and varied greatly in cost. Help! The vehicle was slow to pick up speed, etc.
Infiniti said it's $2500 to replace the valve body and flush the cooling lines. The error codes were P1757, P1759. Dealer appraised suv at $2500 and wanted to sell me a new car. Another shop said there was glitter in oil and will charge $650 to disgnose and the rest is an unknown cost. Another shop wanted replace the tranny at $4k. Last shop will charge $1100 to replace valve body as they rebuild, and the remaining cost is to be told.
It's just interesting how much of a variation you get with one issue. This forum really sheds light on common issues.
