2005 FX35 Best Ipod interface and worst

hey, does anyone know if the iphone 4 bluetooth can be played from an '08 fx, or does everyone listen to it with the corny black wire from the glove box like I do :-(
 
As far as I'm aware, none of the first gens were able to stream audio via Bluetooth without using an aftermarket option.

Isnt the gateway only useful with an ipod? I may want to hook up another device that has an aux jack in the future and dont want to spend 200 installing this if it'll only be compatible with my ipod
 
It has an iPod cord and an AUX cord to plug into your device.

Dont know if works for your year. I have it on my FX35 2008 since more than a year and I'm very happy with it. Only thing I have to comply is that occacionally (like one every 2 months) when a call enters, the radio / display / bluetooth either gets confused and answer using the mediabridge instead of factory bluetooth or it just freezes until you turn off the iphone bluetooth and the truck until the disconnect (about 5 minutes). I noted it happens if you connect the mediabridge and the iphone via bluetooth. If they are connected via USB it works perfect

By the way, I attached mine to the back side of my glovebox, routed an USB extension cable into the glovebox and connecte the phone cable to it. I can close the glovebox without a problem with the roundshaped cable, but I bought a flat cable just in case.

Also, take in mind that if you are usong a Mophie charging case which uses a micro USB connector for charging you won't be able to play music through it since the data is not recognized. You should either take out the case to use the iphone cable or pair them via Bluetooth
