2004 fx35 CDplayer!

hey IS!

i just bought the car and found out that my cd player is not reading the CDs..it says check disc!
its 2004 fx35 awd. everything else is working but cd player...

where can i go to get it fixed?? dealers?

please let me know guys! this sucks..driving without music..:(

Mine was skipping when I got it last year too, so I added the iPod interface, problem solved :) THe problem with that CD unit / CD changer is that when it goes bad, it goes bad. There are some units on line ranging between $300 - $600 but no guarantee that they are problem free. Dealership will probably quote you around that if not more and tell you the whole unit needs to be swapped out. So unless you really need to use CDs I'd go with the iPod connector.

Store bought cds? Burned? Mp3?

i burned the CD at home and i did tried my friends CD which he bought it from the store :(

It might be worth trying a disc lens cleaner. Nothing to loose trying this it's only 5 bucks.

You will enjoy your iPod/iPhone more than dealing with the CD changer and carrying CDs! LOL.
They run anywhere from $120 - $300 depending on features. Simple iPod interface, just a cable/charge is the cheapest. Some have BlueTooth built in to support your iPhone and also work as hands free so just look around and see what would work best for your needs.

Here are some I found on line:

1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-2006-2...0675890074?pt=US_Adapters&hash=item20c0efbb9a

2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-2007-2...t=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item20b07ccb2f&vxp=mtr

3. http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=908&CategoryID=36

Also search the forum to see some reviews etc. Hope that helps

thanks man!! big help!!
so if i get those kit, after the install i could just press the sat button and play??

i was in original manufa. warranty then when they replaced the unit. If you have extended warranty they will also repair it.

CD players go out on these cars - I'm on my fourth player. It is possible to buy remanufactured units - they are less expensive and last just as long as the new units.

Like jumbo said, these radios go out all the time. Bought mine refurbed from this guy on ebay:

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/view...mp;index=0&nav=SEARCH&nid=30849389789

He is local to me, and the new refurbed radio works great now for 2+ years. He also gives a $80 core trade in when you send in your old one. So I paid $250 for a refurbished radio that works great for 2 years. When I went down there,(whittier ca) he installed the new one, and took out my cd's from the old stereo. I broke the ribbon cable from the front panel to the stereo on my original radio. He told me just the ribbon alone is $100. I thought he would charge me more because of my broken ribbon cable, he didn't. Good guy and seller.
