2003 FX35 Oil Consumption problem

There was a big problem with the heads on the vq engine. I haven't heard too many FX's having this problem, mostly g's. Have a dealer look at it and explain the high oil loss.

Also, I would check replace your pcv valve. A stuck pcv valve can cause you to lose oil. I think it is located on the left front of the engine

"oil consumption problem???" are you sure your not losing oil into the 2 rear spark plugs? I had a some what similar problem and when doing a spark plug change I noticed oil in my two rear plugs and after changing the gaskets it never happened again (low on oil.) Or as toy4x stated.

Not unless its burning off or you have bad valve cover gaskets and its leaking out, many possibilities is all that Im saying and all should be looked at.

I also had this issue (to a lesser extent), and found that some oil was leaking into one spark plug well (but not very much), so I replaced the entire valve cover on that side. While doing some research, a 350Z enthusiast was having oil consumption issues and discovered that narrow channels in the passenger side valve cover can gum up and cause the PCV valve to allow abnormal amounts of oil back into the intake manifold, and thus burned right out the tailpipe.

I would certainly recommend the $200 for a new valve cover to rule this out, as the other causes are far more expensive to repair.
