2003 - 2008 Paddle Shifter Installation

Dear La_FX35,
I got the problem during install paddle shifter on my vehicle(fx35 2007).
I followed wire guide and used after market paddle switch.
but not working.
Must to use Infiniti OEM paddle switch?

I think, After market switch only have connect function.

please help me ASAP.

Really any paddle will work, just a matter of mounting. The mechanical switch from the paddle is simply a trigger to active the relay.

Ultimately, I used G35's oem paddle shifter.
Because, After market paddle will not assembly with FX35.
No good. Very urgly.

I just sent email to you. Please check and kindly feedback.

Any 5 prongs relay would work. Just follow my picture on how I wire the relay should work. I use that to build and install into another member's FX too. So I know the DIY has been tested :)
There is no ground needed in the wiring at . Just make sure pin 30 of relay 1 is connected to the one of the wire onto both paddles (yes pin 30 goes to one of the leg on both paddles). The other leg of each paddle will connect to the designated pin (pin 86) on each of the relay.

Also make sure the relay is wire correctly to the cut manual mode wire. The connector side of the cut manual mode wire goes to pin 87A on relay 2 and the other side of the cut manual mode wire goes to pin 30 on relay 1.

Pin 30 on relay 1 should have three wires connect to it.

If you're also using a telephone coupler, make sure the wires are properly traced so that the wires are not crossed. Meaning, the red is cross wired to the green (or whatever color in used in the telephone wire). Test the continuity of the telephone wire ends.

Dave, give me plenty of heads up so that I can start the fabrication and be ready for install when you gets here. It does takes a bit of time to fabricate. The install will takes a couple hours too. :smile (2):

You guys think there are a pair of GTR paddle shifters that will fit in a second gen? Ive seen a few fxs with them proabably. Do the gs and gtr use the same paddles?

Not know for sure, but I did read on a post on here, that the paddle (sliver & black) I use in this DIY is used in the GTR. The guy said the price went up just because is using it and "consider" a GTR part. Not sure if there any truth to it. I have not check pricing on the paddle I use, but last that I check is was something like $100 more than what I have paid for mine at the time.

Yeah they looked similar. I figured they would jack the price up cause its a GTR part. So when the paddle shifter says its black does that mean the side is black on the paddles and when it says beige its beige colored on the paddles?

I need to take a look at a real bracket. I know PMG705 (Ian) 09 FX35 should have the bracket. I need to have him buy in into this so I can open his steering column like I did yours to see if something can be fabricated.

Well for sure the 2012 doesn't comes with the bracket. Don't know about 2013.

Ian, it would be awesome if you have time to swing out to me next Sunday. I would love to take a peek what under your steering column covers.
