2003-2008 FX45 Engine Tuning UpRev Osiris and UniChip

Okay for future orders, you can buy direct from UniChip over the phone -- 503-547-7922 and ask for Aaron - tell him Ed with the FX45 sent you. PM me for details.

Can wait to see Handy Andy's results with the UniChip. He convince me on the transgo kit and then I will do the tune.

Come one guys (Ed & Chris), it only a tranny, oops I mean the tranny. If you two up for the challenge, I don't mind just be there to support and lend a hand as needed

Chris fall in love with how quick the tranny shift. I have a feeling there will more shift kit install once you all get to try it out. Ian, like you have suggested, I might have to throw an extra set of tires in the back with me to the meet.

Did you ever get a hold of Aaron at UniChip? I am curious if he could make you a custom map to accommodate your shift kit.

He hasn't emailed me yet.=(

Yes, I spoke with yesterday replied to an email I sent the day before to confirm the part#. He said it will be better if he can tune/tweak the chip when it is in "the field". He thrown in a cable with my AutoAnything order so I can hook the chip to my laptop. Not real clear if he going to somehow remote into my laptop or simply have me collect the data to send to him. The bottom line is he said he will email me a custom map. Aaron is agreat guy to talk to and hs sure know his stuff. Good find Ed. Good fine.

I take it you still waiting on him to place the order directly with him?

Sweet, nice deal on the cable. Someone handy as you could put some use to that cable.

You are right, I'm not in a rush right now so just waiting on Aaron. I'll call him next week if I don't hear back.

I'm now thinking of doing the Transgo... maybe come over real early to your place sometime in the future and let the professor (Handy_Andy) over see my work? I'll throw some bills at you and a nice dinner=)

How much fluid did you buy and where? Just wondering what the total parts cost will be. I'm so mad, I have an entire case of Nissan Matic J in my storage unit, but it's sooo far back I can't get to it unless I take out everything in front of it....

Yeah, very nice of Aaron to throw in the cable. I can't wait to see what the chip can do. No problem with you come by and being there for you when you decide to tackle the Transgo install. I got the S-Matic ATF from InfinitiPartsUSA.com. InfinitPartsUSA list it as Matic "S" and Matic "J" ATF. They sent Matic "S", so I take it that "S" & "J" fluid are interchangeable? It takes 7.5 quarts. Total in parts & shipping is around $325. I would dig the J-Matic and use them. I hated to know I have some laying around and not be able to use it. Hey, maybe it perfect time to tidy up and consolidate the storage too

Hey, Andy I checked with Berman's Infiniti and the still use J-Matic they don't know what S-Matic is. They charge 16.99ea. So, 8 quarts is about $135 and some change.

Hey guys on my blackberry so can't type out full details just yet.

Fields Infiniti in Glencoe uses Valvoline Full Synthetic Transmission fluid! Shocker to me and I triple checked because in the manual it states only J matic.

Now j matic is being phased out and s matic is the replacement.

Both are full synthetic. Both have additives that are "required" for the transmission to run and protect properly.

The other options I looked into were Amsoil and Mobil 1 full synthetic. In short, if you are in warranty use Nissan matic j or s. If not, any full synthetic should be fine.

I decided to stay OEM so bought Nissan fluid. I think I found j matic and bought that.

www.mynismo.com is one of the cheapest places to buy Nissan matic S. They also explain the change to S.

Also never buy fluid from Infiniti - just go to your nearest Nissan dealership. Its cheaper (markup) that I found.

I actually ordered online since even with shipping it was cheaper! (and no tax).
