Wider is better. Here's a good setup from the front page. Those rears are 20x10.5. fronts are 9.5.

I also have some Black 22's w/ polished lip for sale if you want them. Also have clean photoshop if you're curious. I need to move them out & not using

appreciate the offer on the 22's but I think I'll be sticking to my 20's.. I dont know if I could handle the extra two inches lol

It seems a lot of you guys run staggered set-ups.. Is that a pain in the ass?

Correct, at least for the time being, will just be running one set.. Currently living in an apartment, looking to buy my first home so not a lot of space (or extra coin) sitting around for an extra set.. Planning on buying winter tires in the fall and switching them over (always had good luck with Bridgestone Blizzaks)

Good to know about the temperature effects on tires! I learned something today! Looked into that CQuartz, looks like good stuff! Need to fix up my paint job first, will probably get that later in the summer once I've got her in clean(er) shape

Was looking through the forum and found a member (whin9000) with the same color FX as me with Niche Targa M130s (although his are 22's)

Same price as the Advanti's at the same tire shop up the road from me.. Not sure I'm in love with the wheels being so dark, but once the taillights are smoked (on my ever-growing to do list) I'll bet they look great

these are going for $1199 at that TownFair Tire shop near me .. price includes balancing, new lugs/locks, hub centering rings and front wheel alignment

Niche has a lot of nice wheels. My FX is the same color as yours, so I looked at a lot of the same things you are.

Staggered isn't really a pain in the ass... you just aren't able to rotate like you normally would and tires selection is limited if you're wanting to match. Most go with Yokohama Parada SpecX or Hankook Ventus RH06. Also with AWD, you need to have the same rolling diameter. If you're 20x9.5 up front and 20x10.50 in back you need to run 265/50 and 295/45 respectively.
 
Wider wheels don't have any impact on hydroplaning. I've never had any issues with it though. When I ran 22"s, they were staggered 9" up front and 10.5" in rear. Even when I had 305's in rear, no hydroplaning.

Square is better for handling vs. staggered.
 
Good to know! I think I'm starting to narrow this down..

Was looking more into the Niche wheels and came across these.. 20" x 9" Milanni 9052 Tycoon.. Very similar to the Niche, but a bit lighter in color and (depending on which site I buy them through) about $400 cheaper.. Found these for $190 ea w/ free shipping from 4wheelonline.com or $230 ea w/ free shipping from autoanything.com (compared to 1200..) even with the extra's I'd have to buy (lugs, hub rings, etc), still a better deal for me

Anyone have any experience with either of those two sites? Read mixed reviews about 4wheelonline, but they're significantly cheaper for the exact same wheel.

What kind of offsets do you guys run? These wheels ^ come in either 20mm (5.75 backspace) or 38mm (6.5 backspace). Would be thinking 38mm to keep the FX closer to stock handling and to avoid any rub issues

hey guys, so I've decided I'm going to buy the Milanni Tycoons ^

going to order them on Monday; the guy at the shop I'm working with (SoCal Custom Wheels) recommended a chrome lug kit that includes a set of locking spline lugs, a spline key, and valve stems..

Anyone use spline lugs on their aftermarkets? I'm not overly familiar with them..

For you guys with hub rings, do you recommend aluminum or plastic? or does it not really matter

I have used both and I prefer the plastic ones because the metal ones can seize on or are hard to get off sometimes. May I also suggest getting a spare set of plastic rings (in case one gets misplaced or damaged sometime.)
 
Yeah I imagine corrosion can be a problem with the aluminum up here in the north.. Only thing I had heard really was that they are generally more precise in measurement

Just make sure you protect your 20’’ wheels once you detail your car with a ceramic coating like Cquartz/Opti Coat to protect them from the elements (salt, abrasives…etc.)

question about the CQuartz... How does it hold up over time? Found some articles online that show it peeling/flaking off after a year or so, then looks like shit.. Any way to avoid that eventuality or would it then have to be completely removed and re-applied?
 
20's tend to look small unless you get super meaty tires. I am not sure they would look good with the tires from your stock 20's They will look 'small'

I'd get a summer set of tires for 22's and keep the 20's with the new tires for the winter...
 
Not a terrible idea but financially not an option for me and I dont want to make the ride any rougher than it already is.. I dont think the OEM's look small, cant see how the new ones would look any different size-wise.. Either way, they're better than 18s LOL

hi guys, can anyone recommend a good brand of chrome valve stems that would work with the OEM TPMS system and aftermarket wheels? I'm having my local Goodyear shop put my new wheels on next week and they only carry rubber stems... Decided I'm going to keep using the OEM TPMS for now and replace them once the first one fails.. Believe I would also need a TPMS hardware kit to replace the seals.. Already spoke with Zebra555 and unfortunately his store doesn't carry these items...

Appreciate any advice you can offer!

Looks just like a TPMS but its just an air valve

I can post pic tonight if you want, couldn't find anything online

Greg, it sounds like you are using the TPMS sensors now, if thats the case they are already silver.

yes, I am using the OEM TPMS system.. I was under the impression the TPMS screwed into the valve stem LOL I feel like an idiot :shame:

So all I should need is a hardware kit to replace the rubber seals and I should be good? no new valve stems required
