+2 mod loaner program

Adjustments worked out once we figured out how to actually run the Cipher software. At first we had a failure because my computer is locked for administrative access - it's a company computer. So we had to take a little road trip to DodgeDanger's place to use his computer - from there, no issues.

Shipped to NYC - Aiya today, 11/23!!!

Cipher is back in NYC! Got the package this afternoon. I really was like that photo Soon posted.

Bad news though. The timing bump still doesn't work for me. Soon came over with this laptop to help me out. We got the cable and software to actually see the ECU this time but the option to advance the timing was grayed out. Looks like this option is truly locked out from the factory for the 07-08 45s.

I'm meeting a 03 45 this weekend but don't anticipate any problems there.

Thanks guys for the opportunity at trying this again. If there are no other people on the list then it's going back to Beast!

Man, you must be kidding right. Tell me you are. Sorry to hear that man. :frown: I would suggest you contact uprev. Try again with a different version of the software. I used 1.03 the latest version. Plug in the cable and fire up your car and turn on the software. I really think it should be available. There no real economical benefit for infiniti to come up a special ECU with the timing control locked up. :k:

Something tells me that no software revision will help at this point. Even attempts from the dealer have been unsuccessful by me and Kenny (da mayor). Soon actually found a newer version of the Cipher software directly on their website but it wouldn't work with the cable. It kept asking us to update the firmware to v1.7 no matter what we tried. In the end we reinstalled the old software posted in the thread and got it going...only to be stopped yet again.

I must say that I'm not terribly disappointed though. This would have been a nice mod but, I know I am happy with what I have as is. Thanks again everyone!

Did you try open the Cable Management Utility folder in the latest version of the Cipher software? There is a firmware file in there you can update for the cable. You can just run the cable management utility and update the cable firmware with that file. Take a look.

Or even try it on a different computer.
