I do not know for the 09's if this is supported but as far as the previous years its worth it if you always use premium. better gas mileage smooth power band through the rpm range.

hey Thefx45beast.. i have a question would the engine's temperature raise due to the fact that fuel its burning a bit longer??

no not that i am aware off. are you experiencing some probs. the timing increase should increase your mileage and run a lil bit smoother but i think you should see anything negative as far as the mod goes. did you get it.

i havent done it yet bro.. i was just asking..

detail please

Well first off it was really easy to do! It prob took longer to install it than it did to actually change the timing. After i changed the timing there was an immediate difference. When I started to drive i just put it in manual and let the revs run up a few time and instantly it sounded and felt much smoother not only accelerating but when i let my foot off the pedal and the revs came down very nicely. The engine overall felt much smoother and refined. I havent really taken the time to notice the MPG yet but i did a couple mods all at once so its kinda hard to tell what gave me the best. Between my new Kinetix V+, lightweight crank pulley, and +2 they all helped MPG at cruising speed and im getting better than i ever have before. Hope this helps!

What do you wanna know specifically?

Any knocking during: WOT or upper ranges of RPM OR at all
Anyone do any dyno runs before/after +2 mod
Thoughts after the mod after a week+
Any regrets

Also, if +2 is within tolerance and some Infiniti dealers are doing it does that mean it is condoned by Infiniti and therefore won't void warranty if performed? Any comments on this by those with connections to people on the inside?

1. No knocking what so ever and is perfect in the higher revs, Maybe if you dont run premo with this mod i could see it cause knocking or misfire.

2. No dyno sry its kinda expensive for a mod you dont expect substantial gains from. It adds smoothness more than HP

3.Wish i would have done it sooner, if you do it through the loan program we have goin it'll only end up costing about 15$. (10$ using fee/5$ shipping)

4.No regrets or negatives whatsoever and i havent heard of anyone wishing the wouldnt have done it

5. Like you said you would have to check with someone on the inside, but if somthing did go wrong you could change it back without the stealership ever knowing.

here are some more members that have done this mod.

+2 timing Advance
+2 timing Question
Higher octane gas with +2 timing?

it has been done for awhile, I remember reading this mod when I picked up my FX

Cools thanks. How has the CA 91 octane gas been for you? You had previously mentioned so pinging going up a hill. I guess I'll find out at the meet if the unit can read and program 09s.

Best feedback is a 0-60 run  Overall, I think the +2 mod will benefit you most if you have already did some good breathing mods (intake & exhaust) to your FX. This was a +2 before & after but I was already pretty close to 7 sec mark before doing the mod & part of the difference can be attributed to a better concentration on the second run.. With all the mods I had, I think +2 became the final touch and optimized my hp output..

Weird that I can get almost 2x/3x power gain with a simple $225 mod on the X6 vs all the NA mods on the FX.. FI FTW! (dopie, this was for you :tonguey: )

I received cipher from Jonathan (ShadyJC) today and did some before and after 0-60 times with my g-timer. Overall, I can say that +2 made a big difference. Even when normally moving from a stop I can feel the car is more eager.. That might be me so happy as well though  Details are below:

Setup:
Stillen CAI w/Z tube
MD 5/16" plenum spacer
Stillen stainless headers
Kakumei Y-pipe
APS Single Turbo exhaust modded to fit Kakumei (3.0" from Y => expands to 3.5" for about 2-3 inches =>splits to dual 2.5" with mufflers at each pipe=> dual 2.5" in rear muffler. All stainless, mandrel bent)

Before:
#1: 7.13
#2: 7.00
#3: 7.07
#4: 7.03
#5: 7.09

After:
#1: 6.75
#2: 6.83
#3: 6.72
#4: 6.87
#5: 6.80

If you take the best from each, it looks like I cut .28 off of a second. The runs were made on a completely flat road at 73 degrees with average humidity (didn't measure that). Cipher measures everything real time but I couldn't get it record the runs properly. It only records about 8 seconds of it. If I can get it to record longer, I will post detailed numbers.
