1st gen vs 2nd gen?

The interior of the first vs second gen. Is one larger than the other? It looks as if the opening of the first gens trunk is larger than the second gens. Is this so? Also is trunk space similar or one larger?

1st gen is just slightly bigger (trunk/cargo wise)... 64.5 cu. ft. vs 62.0 cu. ft.
