Since the first gens are so close, and Koso is a vendor, why don't Koso buy two so we meet our goal and he has some to sell at the store? :wink (2):

Wait a week or two and bump the price up a bit. Think about it, they are hard to acquire and you would have two to sell.

Yea koso I should do that with all the braces you'll be the only person selling them .....

Okay, not sure how I have managed to miss this GB completely. To be honest, I have no clue what an STB does. I've heard that it stiffens the steering and/or the chassis in general. Somebody tell me why I need one, as I will need to be convinced. Does it just bolt right on and fit under the hood without any other mods?

Well, a STB will do a couple of things, It firms up the whole car, it adds rigidity to the shell, reducing flexing when you're driving hard, helping the suspension do its job. The cool thing is, you do not HAVE to drive hard to notice it, your first tight turn you make you will notice it even more, SUV's notice the change more than small cars because there is so much body flex.

And yes, with the GTSPEC, no other mods, just bolt it on and go, take the nuts off the top of the struts, put the bar on, torque them back down, and go enjoy it.

Hope that answers ur question

haha, finally some performance mod =)

Koso is correct.

Right now there is a lot of force on the strut towers. Every time you turn or hit a bump, the strut towers flex and right now they flex independently. Most drivers will notice this but think it is just part of a normal car. You really notice this as your struts wear out. The car will feel very wobbly in the steering wheel when going over bumps.

Now turn to us spirited drivers. We notice when trying to take a turn fast (or taking an on ramp) it feels like there is more effort. This is because you are not only fighting the G's from the turn, but you are fighting the car. The more we can stiffen the unibody chassis (two subframes connected by sheet metal in the middle) the more the car stops acting like an independent 5th spring. More of the power and control is transferred straight from the user inputs to the ground.

The strut tower brace connects both strut towers where the greatest, most direct force from road to car (not counting the unsprung weight of the suspension). The more this can be tightened and work in unison with each other the tighter steering is going to be and you will have a more solid feel when turning and hitting bumps.

It would be better to triangulate with the firewall, but unfortunately these are not available on most Japanese cars. I did these a lot when I worked on making performance street and race driven mustangs. The only way to tie the strut tower in on these cars for a bolt on piece would be to get something like the ladder bar from GTSpec. This will be my next purchase hopefully sometime soon.

Hope this helps
Tim

1 more for the 1st gen!!!!

Also, for payment, Paypal works good, I do ask for the 3% fee to cover my cost, most of the time I will eat it, however with these at this low of a price, I just not not eat it for all these, and most company's do not charge me 3%, however GTSPEC does pass that on to me when I pay for them.

I Hope you guys understand.

Also, not sure how many Canada guys there is on the list, I know of one that messaged me, and I'm just doing a flat $20 shipping to Canada and if its more I will eat that. But to the US its free.

I will PM everyone on the list, and get your E-mail address's, and send everyone a Invoice via paypal.

Thanks for for rocking this Group Buy! I will still keep it open for the 2ed Gen guys even when the 1st Gen get to 10.
